Today I received my 10 boxes of CCI Mini Mags with the label from Federal. It even came with the CCI sticker. I'm decorating my safe with them.

This is the first time that this has happened. I've been ordering all along from CCI Ammunition direct, and always get it from them. Today's box surprised me.

Not that I care but I was just surprised. I normally shoot Blazers for Steel Challenge Matches. It works 100 % in my Black Mamba in the summer but I've had a few give me low recoil and very low report when firing. Enough of a difference that the Range Officers have asked me to stop a number of times to verify there was no bullet stuck in the barrel.

Mini Mags do not have this problem so for the next few months I'll be shooting them for match ammo.

. . ,
Did those low power rounds occur with 40 grain LRN Blazer packaged in 50 round boxes or with bulk packed 38 grain LRN?

I was complaining at the range about how picky my S&W 41 is about ammo and how it isn't reliable with the CCI standard velocity ammo everyone else's 41 seem to love. The guy I was talking to suggested I try the 40 grain Blazer but stay away from the 38 grain bulk pack stuff. He said the 40 grain Blazer in small boxes was basically CCI std. velocity with a little more powder. Exact same bullet with the extra velocity my 41 seems to need for reliability. But the 38 grain stuff was made to lower standards.

As soon as I can find some I am going to try it but until then I am sticking with MiniMags. Not as accurate but reliable.

38 grain. The 40 grainers work real well but I want a coated bullet for winter. SV really don't like the cold for me.

BTW 40 grain Blazers are really the same as Mini Mags only without the coating. They are 1250 fps.

I finally got my 500 rounds of 22 Punch from Federal.
Costs me 30 cents a Round!
Just yielded to the power of promotion and bought 2 boxes of the Mighty Stangers at Cabelas. 13 Cents a Round.
