On a different forum the question was asked about movies you'd watch every six months. There is no way I'd want to watch most movies more than once a year, but I did make a list of movies I'd want to watch over and over again during the course of a decade. How about you, do you have a list of movies or tv shows that you want to see many times over?

Below is my list, in no particular order

The Robe
Ben Hur
Keys to the Kingdom
Lawrence of Arabia
Khartoum (best seen on big wraparound screen)
The Last Emperor
Tora, Tora, Tora
North by Northwest
Legends of the Fall
2001 and the sequel
A River Runs Through It
The French Lieutenant's Woman
Citizen Kane
A Walk in the Sun

That should see me through any depression.
A few tv shows to mix in without the commercials or having to wait a week to see the next episode. Naturally these will be all the episodes.

Danger UXB
New Tricks
All Creatures Great and Small
Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries
Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts (mixed in for the laughs)
Dr. Martin
MidSomer Murders
Murdoch Mysteries
The Avengers
Gunsmoke
The Twilight Zone
Inspector Morse
The Jewel in the Crown
Father Brown
Endeavour
Grantchester
Laugh In
The Doctor Blake Mysteries

That should see me through a decade of entertainment, which is about all the time I have left. And if I live longer, I'll just watch them all over again.

There are movies that are so good, so compelling, or just so entertaining, that yeah, I watch them several times per year. If I'm channel-surfing, and one of them is playing, even though I have the DVD, and even if there's only 20 minutes left, I have to watch it to the end.

Off the top of my head...

* Casablanca
* Full Metal Jacket
* Animal House
* The Godfather I and II
* Key Largo
* Double Indemnity
* Patton
* Bataan
* Le Mans
* Where Eagles Dare
* Twelve Angry Men
* Twelve O'Clock High
* Stalag 17
* Seven Days in May
* In the Heat of the Night
* The Right Stuff
* The Swing Kids
* It Happened One Night
* The Great Raid
* Woman of the Year
* Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
* Woodstock
* The Big Sleep

Band of Brothers
Saving Private Ryan
Blackhawk Down
Many of the James Bond movies (omit the ones with Roger Moore)
Tombstone
Quigley Down Under
Most of the Marvel Movies (Avengers, etc.)

I generally don't like to re-watch movies and TV shows I have already seen, but for some reason, "Dr. Strangelove" came on a couple nites ago, and I watched for like the 10th time. Must strike a chord in me somewhere....

My tastes go toward the older, in some cases, more obscure films. The original Universal Studio Dracula, Wolf Man, and Frankenstein. The Sherlock Holmes series from the same studio, with Rathbone & Bruce. Cagney in "Public Enemy," Robinson in "Little Caesar." Barry Fitzgerald in "The Naked City" just to name a few. I'll watch them every time they're on.

For me,

Unforgiven
Pulp Fiction (or pretty much any Tarantino movie)
Star Trek II
Dirty Harry
Bullitt
A Christmas Carol (just about any version)
The Matrix series
Frankenstein (the original)

I'm sure there are others I can't think of at the moment.

I dumped cable TV years ago, and I have none of the pay-for-old-movie services like Netflix...I watch old movies at no charge on YouTube, and from my old DVD accumulation...Right now it's season six of The Shield on DVD for the ump-zillionth time...:rolleyes:...Ben

I remember my father taking me to a double feature when I was a kid- Gunfight at the OK Corral and Last Train to Gun Hill.
For some reason OK Corral stayed with me, I've watched it dozens of times over the last 55 + years but have watched Last Train only once or twice.
I have a bi-weekly movie night with friends here during the summer and The Wild Bunch is one of the few we've watched repeatedly.
Regards,

Oh boy, where to start? You fellas have already made a pretty good list!

I wore out my VHS copy of the HBO mini-series Rough Riders I've watched it so many times, but was able to get another copy on DVD.

I have aver 850 dvd's in my collection and I am constantly adding more. Some are movies and some are series tv shows. All get watched repeatedly. I also am a voracious reader.

Off the top of my head

Unfinished Life
Searchers
My Cousin Vinny
To Hell and Back
Outlaw Josey Wales
12 o'clock High
The Martian
The Accountant
Gentleman's Agreement
To Kill a Mockingbird

Lot's more but those are never misses. We have about 900 DVDs and over 100 movies in our Amazon Prime acct so lots to choose from.

TV Shows

JAG
Monk
The Mentalist
The Closer
Justified
Bosch

The Wild Bunch
Twelve O'Clock High
The Great Escape
Red River
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Rio Grande
Battleground
The Godfather (I and II)
