The Amphibious Assault Ship USS Tripoli LHA-7 configured as a "Lightning Carrier", left San Diego today on a trans-pacific proof-of-concept mission.
Carrying 20 F-35B Lightning II Joint Strike Fighters from three Marine Corp squadrons, the Tripoli is experimenting with the capabilities that can be brought to bear in this configuration.

Here's a traditional market street in Japan. Fast disappearing, My wife and I had some errands in this nearby town/small city today and visited the market near the train station.
We have a lot of them here.
