Thursday we hit 88 in the Denver metro area, had been warm all week. The weather guessers kept saying a big storm was coming. It started Friday with the mountains getting a great dumping, 18" in Breckenridge. I-70 westbound got shutdown for a few hours last night.

This is a good heavy wet snow with much needed moisture.

I got between 2"-4" in the south end of the Denver metro area. Thankfully the one branch I lost missed the roof and landed in the grass. The neighbor behind me has a tall tree with one broken branch resting on his power line, another also just missed his garage roof. Widespread power outages, my favorite breakfast restaurant, less than a mile from the house is closed due to no power. First world problems, I know.

Neighbor's

My branch, the tree next to my shed belongs to the neighbor on my side, just leaning over the fence, nothing broken

About four, rapidly melting, inches here. A great deal of much needed moisture fell here in the last 24 hours!

Our first world problem involves I 25 and the Colorado Gun Collectors Show in the Springs this weekend. Because we love the drive through Castle Rock and over the Palmer Divide so much we will not be going until late in the morning on Sunday. We usually add 20+ minutes to our drive by taking 83 and avoiding 25 like the plague it is. 83 might ultimately be more dangerous than 25, but if you drive 25 you are guaranteed to be involved in something and moisture of any kind means all bets are off.

Maybe we will find a late in the show desperate vendor with a 1960's M-29.......

Heard about your late snow event and now we can see.
60° today here and raining.

Ya'll can have that snow :D

granddaughter has lived in Fla. all her life. her and her boyfriend have both cars and trailers packed and are leaveing for Denver monday. she has never driven in the snow.

I know it was June 14, not sure of the year; '83,'84?.
I left Glenwood Springs in a bread truck at 0500 with 6-7" of snow on the ground.Had been snowing most of the night. By the time I made it to Aspen there was close to a foot. Sun came out and by the time I got back down valley, most of the snow in Glenwood Springs was gone.
I miss western Colorado.

I wish that storm had moved South.
We could use some moisture.
There are Huge Forest Fires burning in N NM.
One of my guys at work is dealing with his right know. His mother lost her home near Las Vegas, NM. Luckily he was able to get there and help get her out with some possessions before the house burnt down. It's now a concrete hole full of ashes.

Hoping for the best for all of you down there.

We only lost a few branches here, but the neighborhood is littered with em. I’m guessing 4-5” from what I saw at 2 am when I went to check on the boom I heard when a limb hit the back patio. It landed within a few feet of the house exactly where one came down in a spring storm a few years ago lol

It's gorgeous out now-nice enough for the Mets to beat the Rockies in the first of the doubleheader to make up for last night's canceled game LOL.

When I was out and about today a lot of the streets were just littered with broken branches. Outside of those clues there's almost no evidence of the storm any longer hahaha.

There's enough moisture now to allow me to leave my sprinklers off for a week.

By Friday there will be some clown in a loin cloth chasing jungle beasts thru my yard....
