Random Object Photographs

Ran into the Mt. Taylor Hotshots This morning down at Sportsman Warehouse. They are from Grants, NM.
They were doing a little shopping on their way back to a fire.
I wished them well with a Be Careful Out There!

We recently had some cleanup to do on family property after a bad windstorm went thru, and while wandering around I snapped up some random pix w/ my iphone.
Thought this was cool to see sitting there, and converted to Noir to add something to the image.

Nice! A number of professional photographers have discovered the unique quallity of B&W. Perfect for that scene :)

15 years ago, whod'a thunk you could get pics of that quality from a device that a) isn't primariy a camera and b) has an image sensor the size of a mosquito's eyeball?

Going to NAS Atsugi back in 1966 the last enlisted pilot in the Marine Corps decided to give us a rare privilege. Print the photos and hold them back to back and you get almost 360 degree of Mt Fuji.
The enlisted pilot flew a the HM&S DC 6. He had a jet pilot aboard who tried to tell him how to fly a plane. He asked the jet pilot how many engines he flew. His reply was one. He suggested the jet jokey fly #1 engine and he would fly the other three.

Was digging through some pictures of when I went to Colorado Springs with Mom to visit my sister and her family. Made a run to the WWII Aviation Museum there. The refurb shop was one of the tour stops inside and they had a real treat in there. TWO Grumman F7F-3N Tigercats that had been worked over. Absolutely gorgeous planes.

There's a shrine maybe a half hour drive or less from our house, situated on a small promitontory overlooking the ocean. It was too hot for walking yesterday, so went for a drive along the coast and stopped there briefly. The pix were taken from the little beach below which is reached by a short concrete staircase.
