Were four inch barrels available for this model ?
I have a 4" M25-5, in nickel. Since you're posting this in the gunsmithing area, are you planning to do a barrel swap on one?
.
Unlike the magnum cousins (.41 and .44), the .45 Colt is a mellow recoil, very pleasant to shoot, and the 4" has a nice balance.
I'm glad someone is happy with their 25-5; I was not. The cylinders were huge and I special ordered larger bullets to try and match the gun's cylinders and groove diameter; slugged bore and pin gauged each cylinder. I chased my tail for almost a year and never found anything that would make small groups. Even Powder Coating didn't help.
In the past, I was always able to get a revolver to shoot by going through many recipes until I found what matched the gun. The 25-5 kicked my azz. On my 8 3/8", I never found anything that would get me under 2.5" at 25 yards benchrested.
In a kind of moment of fate, the revolver was stolen; OUCH. But that did relieve me of my misery.

You could put a shorter sight blade into the sight assemble.I was thinking of a barrel swap until I saw the prices of barrels.
I have a six inch barreled Model 25-5 that POI is high dispite the rear sight being all the way down. I have tested lighter bullets with more power charge with negative results. Even different grips.
I have a 4" nickel plated 25-5. The only problem is oversized cylinder throats. Use soft bullets, .454 diameter, and it shoots fine.
