Aluminum Frame M&P9 M2.0

Don't look how Les Baer and other "custom" 1911 builders ship their guns.

Besides, the box goes in the closet never to be seen again. I'd rather spend $800 than $810 and get a plastic case I'll never see again after the gun is in the safe.

Oh it's a really nice looking pistol, and i may splurge a bit if they ever come down on the price some. My deal is to put a nice semi expensive handgun in a cardboard box makes it look cheap.

They probably don't pay 5 bucks each for those boxes and would make the presentation of the gun so much more appeasing to more shooters.

Now i might understand it on the cheaper model guns but one of their premier guns should be in something more than cardboard. Just my 2 cents worth.

Nothing wrong with being an old timer or metal guns. I don't complain about plastic guns and own 2 but would definitely be interested in a Shield plus in metal if one came out.
What about the CSX? It is close to the same size as the shield with a metal frame. It is not a striker fire system, it has a hammer firing system.

LOL 🤣 That was a good one.

As one of those old guys who had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the plastic age, I like it. I started LE with revolvers and then later went to 2nd and 3rd Generation S&W semis. I was not happy with the change to the Glocks. Now retired, I only have one Glock, but a slew of M&P 2.0s and Shield Pluses.

Upon seeing the ads for these M&P 2.0 Metal guns, I had to have one. I got mine yesterday and shot it out in the desert today. Great trigger, proper heft (though only slightly heavier than the polymer version), excellent accuracy and zero malfunctions over a couple of hundred rounds with FMJ and JHP ammo. BTW, the frame rails are steel, front and rear and are pinned into the frame. This is not a complete chassis like the Sigs, but the front block and the sear housing are steel. This should reduce the possibility of frame wear. The pistol is rigid and points well

I had a CSX. There was nothing really negative about it, other than it was not TDA. Had it been, I would still have it, just based on it's size, reliability and ability to conceal. Nothing wrong with SA, but for me, I'd like the TDA better.

Only ones i will watch a review from is if they actually bought the gun themselves, i find these big sponsored YT reviewers won't give an honest review for fear of the sponsors not sending them any more guns.

Miculek is an excellent shot no doubt, but he won't **** in his own nest by giving a sponsored gun a bad review, plus he gets all the free ammo to test these things before he even makes a video.

Now i don't know if he gets to keep all those guns buds sends him or has to return them, either way if he gave a lot of bad reviews it would hurt buds selling of that gun and they would stop sending them to him.

All is true and I would keep my nest clean also. The advantage of the review is the ability to see the gun perform. If I could shoot like him maybe I would get free guns and ammo.

I like this. There has always been discussion about alloy frames wearing out with a steel slide, but this ends that conversation. I am guessing no one considered inserting steel rails in an alloy gun until after it had to be done for plastic guns and they were like hmm..

Pretty much what SIG/Sauer did with the P220 series with some pretty interesting history relating to the US Military pistol trials in the mid 80s when the SEALs decided to go their own way with the P226.
One thing I noticed about the Mod 2 slides, mine being the 4" Compact, is the thicker area inside the slide that fits against the chamber-block. Maybe the originals were the same? I don't know because I never had a 1st gen. Truth is, the Glocks that competed with with the SIG 320 series for the M17 contract are no more modular than the M&P Mod 2s. I certainly shoot the M2C better than I ever have the G19.

Shot mine yesterday as well. I quite like it. It's a noticeably different experience to shooting a plastic M&P. Different balance, stiffer, the flat trigger is an improvement.

It's a good (probably final) addition to my M&P family.

I got to handle one today at a shop. Guy standing next to me said he wanted to buy it as the sales guy was taking it out of the showcase LOL. I made sure they had more before I touched it, they do.

I really like it though I think a 4" Compact version would be the one to get my money from me.

I held one also. Feels good. Trigger felt just like my m&p 2.0 5".

Ditto for for me for a Compact Metal Frame

Ditto for me. Have not been able to get to the range much lately, but very much looking forward to seeing a 4 inch Compact metal frame in the future.
Maybe by the time I can make it to the range there will be one waiting in the case for me. Then the only problem is deciding which pistol to part with to fund the new metal frame :(

imo this is a sign that they've recently perfected the m&p line with the newest 2.0 editions. they're moving into different materials and variations to give more options instead of focusing on improving the gun's internals and features themselves.

I really like the concept and, it's a nice looking pistol. I've always liked the M&P line and I wouldn't mind having one. But I just don't see it being worth $250 to $300 more than a Beretta 92 or M9. They're both very close in weight and size. My experience with a gen 1 M&P tells me they are as reliable as the Beretta and both are 17+1. I'm hoping to see the prices come down in the future.
