Fun project for a friend

A close friend asked me to rebuild his cherished Remington 341P rifle, passed down from his Mom. Most things were in pretty good shape but the extractor was broken and the firing pin and safety were completely jammed up.
Being vintage 1937 and only built from 1936-1940, I was a bit nervous but was able to find most the parts I needed. Those I couldn't find just happened to be parts common to High Standard pistols! All the hard work is done...just waiting for the parts to arrive!
His Dad, a machinist by trade, did the checkering many moons ago!

A can full of old toothbrushes, pens/pencils/markers, toothpicks, kroil, Hoppes, Remoil, patches.... am I missing the cotton swabs?

I love to help revive the old ones for friends and family. Current project is a nephews Springfield 57 20ga given to him by my brother in law.

It's finished! And, I can't believe how much fitting was required. Took me three days of part time polishing, filing, and tweaking to get the parts fitted but, boy, does it operate smoothly.
Now I have to wait for the weather to cooperate so I can range test it!
