You know you are getting old, when..

When you look in the mirror this morning and see a giant bruise on your elbow, and have no idea what you did to put it there!

When you've worn out your Lazy Boy recliner.

Trust me on this, you can't beat Lazy Boy...we tried, you can spend twice the money for sure but it still ain't a Lazy Boy. I wore out a more expensive recliner, it finally would not keep the legs up. We looked at everything and Lazy Boy had a taller back and more comfortable system than anything else. They still seem to be a little cheaply upholstered but I think I can wear this one out before I'm ready for the ole dirt nap.

Nevada Ed, you jostled my memory. It was Bullards Bar in the Grass Valley area, 1972. I had just moved from Az. and visited an old college roommate who lived in Nevada City. Old memories.

I guess this takes a little explaining.

I went to opening day of the 1967 World Series - Red Sox vs Cardinals. The "Impossible Dream" season. I remember watch Joe Kennedy accompanied by his two sons being brought down to the 1st base seats. My father told me about the 1946 World Series (Sox vs Cardinals) and how Johnny Pesky, Bobby Doerr, Red Schoendienst & a few others played in the series.

"That was 20 years ago. These old guys - they were always old guys. Never actually played". I couldn't see them as anything else.

Fast forward about 40 years, watching a game with a friend's kid and Jim Fregosi pops up on the screen. "That's Jim Fregosi" I said "He used to play shortstop for the Angels".

Kid had the same look on his face as I did at the '67 series opener.
