One LGS has a sale, while supplies last (probably about a day), 1,000 rounds of Magtech 115 gr FMJ is $229.99. A second store has an unnamed 9mm for, IIRC, $299.

I see online prices stalled at $12 per 50, and case lots have free shipping. I get e-mails multiple times a week with those terms.

My local guy is still charging $17 for a fifty round box. I reload 9MM and haven't bought a box in years, but primers are harder to get than ammo delivered to my door. I have probably 1500 cases primed and maybe 3000 primers on top of that, but I don't want to load them while I might not be able to replace them. At least not easily or cheaply be able to get them.

I see them all the time for $14.95 a box at Academy or Cabela's. I don't care about a couple bucks cheaper that much, what I hate is all the other calibers are so expensive. My 10 mm M&P is my favorite gun to shoot right now and the Sig ammo it likes is 43 bucks a box.

I wish I had an academy or Cabelas near me, but I don't. My primary ammo source was Walmart but they stopped selling handgun ammo. My local guy is very expensive. $17 a box of range 9MM.

Every time the price drops it hits a new level that people were waiting for to buy. The shelves empty and we start over at a new price level. Happens every time. Unless there is a panic buying happening.

I've picked up a couple of cases mail order with free shipping. So my Sigs are ready. But I really need a few cases of .38 wads for my Smiths and a Kimber. It's like nobody is rolling wadcutters anymore.

And decent. 22's for BR are exorbitant. You hear me Eley?

I just picked up a half case of Magtech wadcutters for $.52/round. More than I wanted to pay but I was completely out so I bought some. I got them from sgammo but a lot of other online ammo stores have them too.

I have not seen any 9mm ammo prices coming down in months or maybe even over a year. It's still too high and the stores seem to have plenty of it now. Even on-line prices are too high and I'm not going to buy any of it until we get back to under 20 cents a round. I have a couple of thousand rounds that I keep in reserve for when the SHTF and I'm just going to sit on it and shoot my 22's more for some fun.

But I have also not seen prices coming down on hamburger either since all of this **** started.

June 2023 NICS background checks were the lowest number since September 2019.

NICS checks is not a perfect reflection of firearms demand, but one of the better ones.

Speaking about Eley, their Tenex 50 round boxes were under $20 not long ago. Today you can't find them for under $26+. All the other Eley flavors are up ~20% or more too. (their least expensive Club ammo is now $10/box!!!)

23 cents a round doesn't sound half bad when primers are going for 7-8 cents each, powder is $50-$60 a pound and bullets are 8-10 cents apiece.

At today's prices it will cost you somewhere around 20 cents per round to reload 9mm (even assuming free once-fired brass).

For those who paid a lot less for their stock of reloading supplies in years past, it is still possible to reload 9mm for under 10 cents a round.

But there is still the question of how to replace those cheap reloading components from years past if you use them up?

These days it doesn't look like that is going to be possible any time in the foreseeable future.

My local retailer is down to $14.99/50 for several brands of 115 and 124 grain FMJ ammo. 147 grain FMJ is still priced at $20.99/50 or higher.

Primers are $70/1000 now but when you add the hazmat it's about $90/1000. A person would have to buy 5K to minimize the hazmat charge. Same with powder. 8lbs minimum. When a person breaks it down loaded 9mm ammo isn't that much more expensive.

I still have at least enough primers to get me through the year but I don't prep cases like I used to just short of powder drop and bullet seating.

I think primer prices will drop to 50-60/1000 eventually. If they don't I guess I'll just buy ammo. I made the switch to buying shotgun ammo when components became too expensive or not obtainable. Too many variables there to deal with.
