Our kitty Pearl Grey died yesterday. My wife and mall son found her outside in the rain and she was pathetic. Starved and all her hair was broken off at the skin so she looked bald. I thought, "We really need a bald cat." So we took her in and she FLOURISHED and her hair grew and she became a BEAUTIFUl kitty. Not only that, but she was extremely loving and affectionate. We always had friendly kitties but she was amazing. Funny thing is, when we took her to the vet, they found she had a chip, but couldn't read it. We don't know who lost or didn't want their beautiful, loving kitty, but we had her and it looked like it was going to stay that way. Well, my son is 23 now and Pearl got kidney and heart failure. We supported her for a while, but her heart just gave out.
So we have another of umpteen cats and dogs at the Rainbow Bridge waiting to be picked up.

She was very pretty. I have had cats since I was 4 Y.O. and several have been gray tabbies. My current Tabby is probably 8 Y.O. and was named "Pretty Kitty" by my wife. She was my Wife's favorite.

You have my sincerest sympathy.

So sorry for your loss. You saved her and she WILL be waiting for you on the other side.
Just went through the same 2 weeks ago.
Probably the best quote I've seen came from one of the folks here.
"The price we pay for love, is grief."

Really sorry for your loss bud.

We just lost our's about 2 weeks ago. She was about 5 or 6 and a great cat, never scratched on anything but her post, never had any issues at all...always the lady.

She was my daughter's cat, I finally broke down and let her get one...ended up that she wouldn't have much to do with the wife or daughter but she followed me around like a dog.

She got extremely sick from something, we really have no clue as to what, the vet was zero help. We think her kidneys shut down for whatever reason.

I went ahead and put her down while the wife and daughter were gone shopping a few days after the vet trip, that was a hard one to do but she was mine and I couldn't let her suffer...

I know it's hard - we've lost 14 over the years - so much sympathy for your loss.

You and I should have a support group. After 44 years together Ruthie and I have said goodbye to 20 cats and 2 dogs.

We remember them all including their distinctive personalities and quirks.

We are going to have to rent a Uhaul to carry all the shakeable treats when we cross the bridge.

It's been those cats delivered by the CDS (Cat Distribution System) that have made some of the best fur family.
They know you changed their lives for the better, and despite their mastery of the art of apathy when you want their attention, the gratitude they carry is apparent.
The latest friend via the CDS is Squeak. Long after God determines he needs his cat back, I'm sure to continue to pause in key locations awaiting that little meathead ramming into my shin and doing a few figure eights through my feet.

So sorry for your loss. We had 2 cats pass away in the last 2 years. Now we foster 1 cat at a time until the rescue finds them a home.
