Hoping to soon hear about her next batch of cookies.

Well, she made it through the surgery, yesterday, to remove the portion of the new liver that failed. Needed some blood afterward. Still on dialysis, but some improvement in kidney function and they plan to remove her ventilator tube tomorrow.

While not out of the woods yet, she is improving slowly but surely.

It seems she is slowly improving. Blood work slowly improving. Now on a type of ventilator that just assists the last bit of her breath. Some cognitive issues, but that is not uncommon for a period of time after liver transplant and should go away.

Thanks for the update steelslaver.
From what you are saying, it sounds like your sister is dealing with some of the "normal" issues that are associated with a major organ transplant. That such transplants are even possible is one of the miracles of modern medicine.
I will continue to remember her in my prayers.

One of my even younger sisters went do to Florida. She reported that this morning they finally removed her breathing tube completely. While still weak she is talking low and soft.
