She is currently on dialysis and they plan for more surgery tomorrow.

Well , it looks like she may have turned a corner. There have been clots and swelling and a leak. They plan on doing one more surgery tomorrow and closing her up. They can't give her much in the way of pain meds because they drop her blood pressure.

So, 1/2 the new live has failed and they will remove that Monday. Not unheard of and 1/2 is enough to keep her going plus liver actual will regenerate that portion. Still needs dialysis machine

thanks for the up-date, I am still praying for Marla. As you noted the Liver is one of the few tissues in the body that can regenerate from a partial organ! This makes it sometimes possible for the donor to be a living person and not a cadaver.
Is there some specific issue with her kidneys, or just the common post-surgical complication?

It is post surgery problems with kidneys. Because of her problems she needed the top part of the liver

She is slowly getting better, Needs less blood pressure med, still on dialysis, but putting out a bit more urine on her own.
She is a tough woman. Hey she had 4 older brothers who tormented her.
Once she was trying to make cookies and we were working together to steal her dough and she couldn't defend it against all of us and finally burst into tears. I still feel bad about that, but she should have known better. LOL

Prayers for your sister, hoping she can pull through this tough time and make a full recovery. Prayers for the doner family, as well, their loss and grief are tremendous but tempered by the fact your sister is showing improvement. God Is Good!
