AHHH, now I see - it isn't just a groove separating the knurling from the smooth part of the rod - it is actually a "band" of smooth surface that is turned down to a smaller diameter than the rest of the smooth ejector rod shaft.Very early (1963) 29-2. with left hand thread. Don't have a -1 but it would be similar.
Do I have that right?
