Here's my dilemma:
In NJ you can only take posession of 1 handgun every 30 calendar days.
I have the following 3 handguns paid for and just awaiting pick up:
S&W 60 ND
S&W 15-3
S&W 4506-1
I paid for the 60 ND first then the 4506-1 and finally the 15-3. Like a kid in a candy store.
I'm thinking the 4506-1 will be the most "fun" to shoot but should I get it first?

I hope it's OK that I included the semi?

What do you all think? WWS&WF do?
Thanks to all in advance

I feel your pain. Just not to the same degree, as a newer transplant to CT, Recent legislation was passed restricting the purchase of handguns to 3 per month. I think if the model 60 is going into a concealed carry rotation, then that should be first. Followed by the model 15 from the economic standpoint as related to ammo cost, and range time. The 4506 third, assuming it to be another range toy, or maybe first if it were to be a nightstand gun. It's really sad that legislators think, restricting law abiding citizens, has any effect on criminal activity.

100% gospel!
My sister lives in Waterbury,CT. There is a great shop there called "The Gun Store" I go there and all I can do is drool...
I don't do CCW so no rush on the 60. The 15-3 is really too pretty to shoot but I will, often.I recently purchased of a few hundred rounds of .45acp ammo, very reasonably priced, from 2 different buddies. So maybe the 4506-1?

Small world brother. My family home, is on the Waterbury, Oakville town line. Oakville side of Bunker hill. I was in the "Gun Store" for yesterday's Black Friday Sale. Brought home a NIB Ruger PC Carbine and 1000 round case of 9MM. Can't go wrong with 45 ACP. I am a huge fan, second only to S&W revolvers!

Is there any rationale behind that law?

.45 acp ammo is much easier, and less costly than the .38 cal offerings currently available.
For me, easy decision.
👍👍🤔

If it's 30 calendar days apart, I'd pick up the 4506 first, then the 15-3, then the 60. If it's one per month, grab the 4506 before next Thursday, then the 15-3 on Friday, the first of December, then the 60 in January.

30 calendar days apart. November 26th, December 27th, January 28th just to be safe...

Lucky!
My Dad was a WW 2 USAAF Veteran. He had quite a few firearms. The 1911A1 was his hands down favorite handgun and the 45acp his favorite round. I think he would have liked the 4506-1.

It's worse than you guys think. You need a pistol permit for each handgun purchased. Said permit is good for thirty days. If the local chief thinks your buying to many you just might not get the next permit. No, that's not legal. Yes, it does happen.

Delay in issuing permits, especially the first one is SOP in many departments.
Here's the form take it home fill it out.
Come back and get fingerprinted.
Oops, fingerprint man is out on a job, try next week.
The letters of reference have not come back yet.
The chief is on vacation.
Only one reference returned the inquiry.

Now this does not go on at all PD's but if you live in the wrong town, you're screwed.
