BROUGHT MY COMBAT MASTERPIECE (PRE M15) TO RANGE TODAY-GOT SOME WEIRD LOOKS/COMMENTS

You've noticed that too? Here is the worst part:
Elves sneak into my house at night about once a week and shrink the print in all of my books. :D

Those blasted elves must be adding weights to my old radios. Getting the DX-100 onto the bench requires the help of a nephew.

I've fired more than 50 rounds DA, but I don't care for it and the amount of it I've done is a tiny percentage of rounds fired.

Shooters today do not understand "non-tactical" (as I've taken to calling myself) shooters.

I have a S&W K Frame PPC revolver built by Austin F. Behlert, it is a double action only (DAO). I shoot it on a somewhat regular basis, as it is a joy to shoot.

I shoot all of my .357 mag., .38 SPL and .22 revolvers double-action. I spent the time to learn how way back when. Back in the day, most PPC shooters also shot the course double-action, even at 50 yards. I still qualify with a revolver and semi-auto for LEOSA. I shoot the course double-action when shooting the revolver. My 629-3 is set up for deer hunting and I shoot it single-action.

This is the one that I shoot DAO, as you can see the hammer has been cut off and ground down by Behlert.

When I was working down in San Antonio I used to stop by a couple of "Shooting Boutiques" on my way home. Display cases full of black plastic bullet squirters and racks of pink camo tactical gear....oh yeah, coffee bars too.

But I'm happy for them and welcome the next generation or two into the fold with open arms.

I guess maybe I was secretly waiting for the day when they just gave away all of their old and obsolete revolvers to make room for the newest wave of striker fired nirvana.

I retired before that ever happened though.
