Walmart

Seems if you enter their doors, you're subject to their rules. I am sure you knew they checked receipts before you entered and you entered anyway. Don't like it, don't shop there. Unlawful detention and search only applies to the government. They know me at the local Walmart, so I only get jacked up 50% of the time. :D

Never understood the hate for the place.

This one bewilders me. I have yet to be offered a concrete explanation as to why I should avoid Walmart. Most explanations reek of snobbery.

If I could get the financial backing I could make a fortune by opening up Boomer-Mart.

The big loss now for Walmart is the self checkout. Sure, people still conceal merchandise and walk out, but it is "under ringing", as it is called, that is the big customer involved loss. It is fascinating to watch the surveillance of the different techniques people use.

It was at a drive thru chicken business yesterday. Four times I can barely hear her say, "I can't hear you." I turned off my vehicle and stuck my head out the window. She said "huh?" May God help us all.

I love Wal Mart. I have a good one in my little town, but I usually drive to a more rural one about 20 minutes away. Its a nice relaxing drive, the store is always clean and well-stocked, and the staff is helpful and friendly. (Elizabeth CO, in case you're wondering). My dog likes it too.

When I lived in Twin Falls, ID, a brand-new Wal Mart opened after fierce opposition from the Mom & Pop crowd. I went the first day it opened, figuring it would be empty since no one wanted it there. Of course it was packed, and stayed that way for several weeks until the novelty wore off. After that it was merely busy all the time.

Wal Mart is one of the few places that didn't gouge on ammo during the various Chicken Little panics of the last few years. I lucked into a few bulk packs of .22 ammo at WM for 23 bucks/500 when the local gunstore was tearing off Wal Mart price tags and asking 90 bucks.

Its been my experience that nice areas have nice Wal Marts. You can figure out the rest.

I too am a fan. I have a "Neighborhood Market" less than a mile from the house. Just got back from it, $150 for gas/groceries, maybe 5 other shoppers. Took all of a half hour. Joe
There are several of those around here and fairly convenient if you just want supermarket items. Back at the height of the Covid panic, those WM neighborhood stores stocked stuff you couldn't get at regular supermarkets. And they were not as crowded. We usually don't go there because the regular WM store is closer to home.

I like to go to Cody Walmartin thesummer in the mornings. You get to see all kinds of Walmatians in all sorts of half clothed or pajama girls. It's the tourista's that park their campers in the parking lot...shopping for something...then every now and then you see a gal tattooed to the nines wearing almost nothing so you can see the tats...And sometimes the funniest are the ole ladies who see's a local walking the aisle with a C&L 1911...and even if they don't know ya...they'll put a hand on your arm and say...Did You SEE that man? He has a gun...the best answer I ever gave was yes Ma'am...so does my wife(standing there next to me!) Apoplexy time! I have no trouble at Wally World...most of their foods etc are much cheaper than Albertson's.

Walmart and the largest Texas supermarket chain H-E-B own the south Texas supermarket business. They drove out all major competitors years ago.

A walmart in another neighborhood is good to visit just to see what kind, or lack of clothes people wear. Amazed at how some people go out in public. Guess Its a good thing my grandparents and parents are gone as I can plainly hear what they would say.
I usually put receipt on top of a bag and tell the door watch person, there it is if you want to look at it. I also tell them you dont have anything I'd steal if I was a thief…

I own my own business and have had over $30,000 worth of things stolen from my construction sites in the last 6 months. I don't mind showing someone my receipt if it will help reduce stealing. As matter of fact I would love to see someone get caught and have the snot beaten out of them but that's not a very Christian way to think. It just gets to me financially and emotionally from happening so often nowadays.
In the old neighborhood this guy tried to walk out of a liquor store, though the line that the owner worked. The dope had a bottle under his coat and the owner was laying for him. Out came the baseball bat from under the counter and the thief received several bumps on the head.

No cops, just some old fashioned justice.

My nephew and his friends play a game called "Your Team"... while out and about they call out "Your Team" when they see "special" people... like those dressed like Rusty... the person is assigned to one person in the group and when everyone has 3 people on their team a loser is declared... it is against the rules to play at Walmart... games are too quick...

If Walmart lost $1 million a year to shoplifting there would be no issue at all. In reality they lose about $3 billion annually to shoplifting thieves and we all pay for that with their higher prices. It only takes about 10 seconds to show someone your receipt, not sure why people get their panties in wad over it, especially if it will lower their cost to buy groceries.

If you're not doing anything wrong, you shouldn't care if the police search your garage.

Also, it used to be that retailers lost more to internal theft than external theft. That may have changed.

BTW, that $3Billion is about 2% of their net profit. If they cut theft to $0, they wouldn't lower prices, they'd just split that $3 Billion among the stockholders.

I must have "The Look" or something. I'm rarely asked for my receipt at Walmart.
It's not you . They only ask to see my receipt if there is something that is not bagged . I flash them my receipt and go about my business .
I don't get my jollies by mistreating elderly people trying to supplement their SSI . Five seconds of my time won't kill me .

Hummm, innocent til proven guilty is all that can be said. Walmart Has the $$$ to institute 100% security IF THEY WANTED TO. The " door checkers" are 100% BS. By chance one does not know Israeli security suggest one look it up.

I am simply amazed at all the WM blasters. I was just there this afternoon. Needed some paint. It was cheaper than Home Depot. Needed some medical prep stuff. It was cheaper than the drug store.

When I left the greeter smiled and said have a good day.

I can't hardly remember seeing people inappropriately dressed. Maybe it happens. If it does, maybe you better move to a better neighborhood.
