I've been digging for info on these the past few days. 99% seem to go with a red dot and maybe folding sights as backup. I'd prefer dedicated irons I think. I'm wondering if standard height AR sights get you to a good sighting plane, or if riser blocks are needed to avoid craning the head to get low enough. Thanks in advance.

OK first time I've been a "one percenter" then I guess, lol. ;)

I tried a 2-7-32 handgun scope I've had for some 35 years are more year my gun safe . never carred for it on a revolver I hunted with . Changed to a ultra dot .

While my wife decided what to optic to use on the FPC I mounted that old handgun scope on the FPC and shot some 5 shot groups at 50 yards to see how it could group . Then I placed the scope - back into the gun safe . My wife picked a romeo 7 2moa dot optic for it and it works real well for a 9mm carbine .

Good luck with your scope but remember its mounted to a polymer FFT .

I like the romeo 7 , clear optics , good battery live But the control for on and off or intensity is only OK , Nice larger lens is really what sold my wife , So far so good . You might check out Primary Arms SLx MD-25.

We also have an earlier version of this - The MD ADS thats been on an AR9 for close to ten years . I've changed batterys once , will change again at the the end of the year . I have a 3x magnifier behind it . Good optic for me but I'm an old optic shooter . My wife wanted a larger lens !

I wear trifocals so using sights for more than typical handgun defensive needs would be wasting my time . I can shot using the front sight sorta . Years of practicing flash sight picture shooting has become less flash over the years . 8" steels at 40 yards are still fair game for me with a handgun. You could also add a small green gun laser at the front of your FFT as a back up to your MBUS sights .
