Thanks everyone for your prayers. The incident happened in Lockport, Ill. I probably should have included that information from the start. It was a deliberate act. It appears to be what I suppose they call a "hate crime." Melissa has adopted two childred of another race, which apparently upset her neighbor.

If you feel the urge I ask you to pray for him also.

UPDATE on Melissa.

Got a text from daughter #1 (by age) this morning. Melissa is still in a coma, but they are gradually weening her off the drugs while they keep an eye on her. She's not out of the woods yet, but the fever has broken, and that's a good sign.

The "neighbor" has been denied any pretrial bail.

Prayers are with Melissa and your family. Based on the story, the shooter is obviously mental and needs to be locked up for the rest of his life for the protection of the community at large. I'll leave it at that.
