Went to a how by a newish promoter here in Vegas. The venue was a nice hotel/conference center called Ahern. Entry fee today was $15 with free parking and a coupon for something in a cafe area. No loaded guns allowed, including your CCW, so leave your piece in the car or at home.

Room was fairly small, leading to rather narrow aisles. Non-firearm stuff was LOTS of knives, and a few trinket/jewelry stands. Wife did well with the latter for bits for kids.

Used gun prices varied greatly. Nice Dan Wesson 357, $500 seemed OK. $575 for a S&W 64-1 with some weird hybrid rubber/wood grips did not work for me. A refinished Swedish Mauser 96 for about $1000 was hysterically funny. Was offered a used Tavor X95 in 9mm fro $1400. Sadly, my wife was standing right there...

New gun prices varied from reasonable to 'don't make me smile'. Think $449 for the original S&W BG380. Oddly, New 3" Pythons were the same as online. One guy had a 3" Viper for just under $1000, but I wasn't sure it was new.

Lots of AR and custom Glock parts in a full spectrum of colors. I came away with some AR Pmags and a couple of Glock 17 compatible mags for my RIA STK 100. Had my eye on the upcoming election.

Sounds like you had a good time; your description is spot on with my experience at the show. The husband/wife promoter is new to promoting, but they’ve been doing Nevada shows for years. Nice people.

Pros:

Entrance fee includes lunch
Easy access
Parking

Cons:
Small and crowded
Security wands for guns - a first for me

I’ve found a couple good deals there. My favorite is an unfired Sako Vixen (transition) L461/A1 in 223 with period correct Weaver T15 scope. $1100 :D

I am going to a local show this weekend.
The last couple have been good.
A spacious venue, good reasonably priced food, well attended.
Almost like stepping back to gun shows past.
The only bad thing is I’m not going till Sunday, after everything’s been picked over.
I go with a friend and he has family obligations on Saturday.
He apparently hasn’t got his priorities in proper order.

Went to one in my area (5 miles from my house) this last weekend. Had it's share of knife/jerky and trinket dealers. Lots of black plastic guns for sale. Most all S&W & Colt revolvers were over priced. Some willing to deal and some refusing to budget, most prices were higher then their value.

Expo Mart?

I used to love going to gun shows when I was younger and the internet was still newish. I used to find good deals there. But since gunbroker and other gun sites became available I stopped going all together. I have found there is to much **** there anymore. Guns are expensive, ammo is expensive, and every craft person is setting up booths for jewelry and women’s purses.

We have one coming up this weekend in Ma and the first one since the draconian semi-auto ban went into effect on Aug 1st. I'm expecting to see a lot more knives and spitball shooters for sale.

Yeah no kidding. True one needs a License To Carry to possess any semi shotgun or rifle and not just the FI.D. card? That is my understanding.

And...no more semi-auto long guns coming into Ma and the ones here are NOT transferrable in state. Only to another state. That includes shotguns and .22LR rifles ,regardless of if it has a detachable magazine or its capacity. So your grandads old Browning A5 can't even be transferred to a relative. It is a pathetic state to live in and I'm getting out asap. Healey and the Bostonians have destroyed it for conservatives and legal gun owners.

If you are referring to Monroeville, those have been bad. I think ACORN was talking about Washington Pa show. Nice layout in multiple 'fairground' buildings.

Yes, you are correct.
Washington County is the best around.

I was referring to the Expo Mart at Monroeville. When I was stationed in Pittsburgh, I live about 3 miles from the Expo Mart. The gun shows took the entire floor of the building and packed. From what I have heard it has gone way down hill since then(30 years ago). Never made it to the Washington show. Now when I visit I go to Meadville. They have lots of private clubs and FireHall gunshows. Some really good stuff shows up at those!

The old Expo Mart show was great.
The new one is in an old Wickes furniture store. Poor parking, much smaller, $12,admission, and high priced food.
Lots of junk. Jewelry, shirts, a ton of knives, general poop.

I have gone to all the shows at the Ahren. Ahern security does the wanding
making me wonder since the October 1 shooting the hotel management requires the additional security.
I have bought a gun at an earlier show and bought grips.
The isles are narrow but have to put up with it as venues for shows in Las Vegas are few.

Houston has gun shows every other weekend in the Fall, but the dealers know what they have and are often proud of it. As i have been told after making an offer, "You may know what this gun is worth, but the next guy won't".

The Speedway show can get a little crowded too, but the venue is cool. Plenty of room at the convention center, but they lost me with $15 parking on top of the $15 admission. Even the vendors have to pay for parking; many won’t be going back.

Indeed. The corporate suit that convinced all and sundry in Vegas to charge for parking should have been staked out in the test site for the turkey vultures this summer with the scene livestreamed to discourage others with 'bright' ideas.
