Yeah, folks on this forum are even older than I expected, but so what? And I don't fear for revolvers either. Around here, there's no gun store without at least a couple of S&W revolvers. We'll be fine.

Switzerland and other European countries I see revolvers there when I am visiting. I was expecting Glocks and Berettas.

But for Law Enforcement and personal use a six shooter is good to go.

I just hit the big 4-0 in May. You old timers are making me feel young! Also, marrying a woman 8 years younger than me is helping to keep me young, I suppose. Now, any of you blue hairs got any advice on how to stop my hair loss?! My father said he already had way less than hair than me at 40, but he also had two wild a** kids by the time he was mid 30s.

Hats....lots of hats

Shouldn't you be in bed by now? Does your mom know you're surfing the forums? 😉

I am 71. We are the new old-timers. We are the same as the guys we watched, admired and learned from 5 or more decades ago. We have a genuine responsibility to carry on as those guys did, to promote and sustain the culture for the next ones yet to come.
Carry on.

I'm just a 10-year-old trapped in a 78-year-old body.

As a boy I used to make my own guns from Mom's clothespins.

Reproduction of my first Match gun. Hard to find ammunition for it now.

Amazing I didn't burn the house down.

God bless,

I wonder what this forbodes for the interest in Smith & Wessons in the near & distant future?

Don't know about interest... but with the demographics of this bunch, the future is going to be a BOAT LOAD of Estate Smith & Wesson's hitting the market.

For the record, I turned 71 a month ago. Back in my teens, I always wondered and tried to image what it was going to be like hitting this age... it's better than I imagined. In my Grandmother's day, making it to 70 was thought to be a stretch.

71. Graduated HS in 1971. Our HS class just threw ourselves a 71st party to celebrate. We had such a great time at our 50th reunion 3 years ago we decided to get together again before some more classmates leave us. 👍😊 Cherish your friends and family each day at our age.

I often joke with my wife (who’s a few years older than me) I’m 38 going on 58. I like steaks, steel and wood. No plastic on my guns, knives or any synthetic junk for me.

I'm 71 and a half. Heck, I've been around here for 15 yrs. Feel much younger now than I did 5 yrs ago. I'm ready to start drag racing motorcycles again! I caught the S&W bug when I was 23. I went into a gun shop in Ft. Worth, asked to take a look at a Model 25-2. When I thumbed back that target hammer, I knew something changed in me.

Padding on the headboard might help , some.:D

When did I start?

Bought my first S&W 1962, Victory model, $10 or $15 dollars, a M-28 which I sold to pickup a M-19, Also bought a Colt and a 1916 Luger. 1964, I sold the Luger and bought a M-39. Next was 1968 a 32-20, traded Colt for it, Really didn't start collecting until I retired from the military and started my second job. had more loose funds. When I retired from my second job and went on SSI, Got the house paid off, I could start picking up the grail guns. Still buying. Kids can worry about my guns, I'm going to enjoy them while I'm here
