Its going to be a long event here at the lakesiders house. The Hallmark Christmas/holliday playing of movies started a couple weeks ago.

Now do not get me wrong I like this time of the year but seeing and hearing that way too early and way too often gets old fast!

I prefer a reasonably quite house and the Mrs needs background noise. I only watch the TV if their is something on I want to see. She gets up and the first thing she does is turn on the TV.

She does not like the talk shows so she puts on Hallmark on the big TV so she can hear it in most of the house. Its going to be a looooooooooong time till about the second week in January.

It seems like each year they (Hallmark) start the holiday brainwashing earlier and earlier.

Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Family Channel, Hallmark Mystery Channel - wifey has all 3 tee'd up and ready to go from now until the end of the Christmas holidays.

Thanks goodness that I can now bury myself in a good book...currently "The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors".

My ex did the same but it was daytime chat shows and soaps. She had an industrial sewing machine in the basement and would crank that tv up so it resonated throughout the house. It finally drove me insane and I fled for quieter quarters lol

Have goods friends who I stay with when I visit my son and the grandkids. Good people except the wife turns on Fox News at 7:00am and only turns it off when she goes to bed. After three days of that I would be pulling out my hair if I had any. When I am at home TV is not a issue because I got rid of my set when Dish kept going up in price. Been around 8 years ago and never missed it once.

Remember, decorate for Christmas wisely.

There's been Christmas stuff in the stores since Aug.

The wife told me she has started seeing xmas decorations and items for sale in stores. I wouldn't know, they don't decorate on the golf course, shooting ranges and deer stands I frequent this time of year.

I walked into Lowe’s two weeks ago. First thing you see is Halloween decorations. The second thing you see is Christmas decorations.

I went to my local Home Depot a month ago to get some lawn fertilizer. The store's website indicated they had plenty in stock. When I got there, it had all been replaced by Christmas decor junk. I had to buy one of the few remaining bags of a "winterizer" fertilizer they had that I hadn't wanted to buy. In Texas, you don't have to apply winterizer until November or even December. But when Home Depot decides it's Christmastime, your lawn can rot.
