I'm testing my new BGF 2.0 from a rest with different ammo to determine most accurate. Everything I shoot lands several inches left at 10 yds. I saw a youtube last night where someone said alot of these pistols shoot left from the factory and a sight adjustment is necessary. Has anyone experienced the same thing? Thanks

I believe most people have. Iv'e experienced it with two, had a gunsmith move them both to center the POI.
Remember, rear sight int the desired direction of change, front sight opposite.
I still think it's the best .380 out there.

OZ - did you move the front or the rear sight in your adjustment? Thanks

txmiller,

I think the smith moved them both a bit. It helped.
A lot of right handed shooters shoot left with small guns, me included. But shooting from a supported rest told the real story. My theory was to get it properly zeroed, then work on technique.
Good luck with your 2.0, it's a keeper!

I bought one today from a large LGS. They had four in stock and only one had the front and rear sights centered in the frame. I did not want one with a safety, but the only one with centered sights was the safety model. I also had the employee break it down to assure that the feed ramp did not have a burr on it (as I've read many of them did and would not feed consistently).

Hopefully, any shots hitting outside the bulls eye will be my fault and not the gun's.

Most folks shoot micros left, experienced shooters too!

Thanks guys - I was using a ransom rest so I'm pretty sure pistol was striking left. Will visit the gunsmith tomorrow.

My sights appear to be dead center, but I shoot low left with it.
Shooting with my elbows rested on the bench, and a lot of shooting with a laser cartridge have convinced me that it's a "me" problem and not a sight problem.

Your mileage may varry of course.

We have two Shield 2.0 in 45 and 40 - both shot left for my wife and I. You'll get lots of advice about changing your shooting grip, etc., but I simply drifted the FRONT sights until they were on the precise point of aim and impact with normal shooting grip. Not one single problem since.

There are many, many BG 2.0s that came from the factory shooting to the left. I've posted on this topic since I like this little shooter a lot.

I took my gun to a licensed gunsmith who told me the front sight was way off. He centered the front sight for me and now the gun shoots to point of aim.

I do believe that rear sight notch is too wide for the front site, and that, unfortunately, aids the problem. I will be changing both sights in 2025, most likely to an XS sight pair, which should eliminate the problem all together.

Mine also shot left from a rest. Drifted the rear sight. Now all is good.

Yes ... many times with many handguns .

Adjust the sight (s)... problem solved !

If unsure of how to do it and or don't have correct tools ...
take it to a Professional Gunsmith and have them do the adjustments for you .

Good Luck ,
Gary

Correction Target

I occasionally refer back to this Pistol Grip Correction
Target, see picture below.

I have a tendency to pull my groups down
when shooting my larger caliber Revolvers.

I looked over a S&W BG 2.0 the other day.
Sights were centered, Slide spring firm,
and Side Safety was firm. I thought
it was a nice Pistol.

Hope this gives some insight as part of
the sight-in problem.

I have my home range 'out back' and shoot a variety of handguns several times a week. Other than some changes between shooting my autos and revolvers, my grip techniques (possibly/probably not absolutely textbook) have been developed over many decades and have allowed me to become a somewhat accomplished handgunner. I would go crazy if I had to change my grip every time I picked up a different handgun. Just the remembering part would be tough. I just "pick them up and shoot" keeping my grip consistent across many platforms. Usually works really well for me.

And yep, I tend to shoot the tiny stuff somewhat to the left. By far the most efficient thing for ME to do on the 2.0 was to drift the sights a bit and just "pick it up and shoot it" to the target's center using my regular/normal hold.

I miss left with all micros and I just favor my front sight to right with rear to correct, of course I could move sights for my fundamental short comings but I just work around it.

Many right handers shoot to the left. It is how the t finger is hinged. It happens too fast to see while dry firing, but it does happen. Drifting the r sight 1 mm on my Shield 45 fixed it, but still proper grip training must be on going.

When I got my gun 2 months ago, I let my local gunsmith shoot it because we were both LCP Max owners. He loved it but moved both sights free of charge although I didn’t note any significant issue from previous micros owned. Anyway, he was a better shooter than I but I didn’t like the sights off center. I centered the sights a few weeks later, shot from rest on target. I think most folks move their sights to cover up their lacking trigger pull.

I have the M&P 3.6 compact and I also noticed I shot a hair left...but I think its cause I kind of suck? Lol
