Visited family NE of Dallas over the holiday weekend. We had a late night flight back, so they took us to experience Buc-Ees.

The Good:

All kinds of good food and neat/cute trinkets. We got some killer burritos and my wife got two pairs of Sterling Silver earrings.

The Bad:

It's not exactly cheap in there. OK, the T-shirt I got was a reasonable price as were my wife's bits, but I'm not so sure about some of the other stuff like cups and even the food.

The Ugly:

Does nobody on that part of I-75 have any pump etiquette? That rest stop is BUSY, with lines building up at the pumps. But, while we were parked eating our food, we saw multiple people park at a pump, lock up and disappear inside for 10-15 minutes. When did that become a thing? Utterly ludicrous.

Just left the Buc-Ees in St Augustine, got gas at pretty good price. Every one Iv’e been to has way to many Inconsiderate's blocking many pumps. I always get their Key Line Pie in a cup, expensive but once every month or so is not bad. Their briskets sandwiches are $8.50, yet to try one. They are building a new one on I-95 near Brunswick Ga.

It could be this-
Guy is paying cash, so he has to go inside to pay in advance. Has to stand in line behind Jethro who is cashing in his 23 scratch off lottery tickets ($46 in winnings), BUT not for cash- Jethro is taking 8 minutes to decide which and how many of the 86 variety of tickets will be his luckiest today! ;)
You folks merely buying gas has to wait for Jethro to HIT IT BIG!!!!! :D:D:D

My daughter son in law and grandson love it. Since we went on a cruise out of Galveston we had to go to the one in Bay Town.

The BBQ is dang good, but the whole experience is a bit over the top. We travel enough to where we pass Buc-ees fairly regularly and the places are always packed. Heck Sunday we passed two on I-75 on the way to Florida that had cars backed up on exit ramps all the way onto the interstate. Needless to say I passed on the BBQ that trip.

We stopped at the Florence SC location on the way to Savannah. Gotta try a new thing ya know. Don’t really feel the urgency to go back. Gas was not a bargain.

During the COVID airline lock downs, I traveled by truck from Ga to Kansas every week. I found Loves to have equally clean restrooms and smaller crowds. Buc Ees was to represented at that time, as the one north of Atlanta was under construction.

The Buc-ees I have been to do not take cash for the pumps....credit or debit only. I found that out the hard way.

Buc-ees is a nice stop, but remember it is a tourist trap. The restrooms are second to nothing.

This has not been my observation and not just at Buc-ees. People pump gas then go in to get snacks. They swipe their card, stick the nozzle into the tank and then wander into the store.

Eventually they come back with a drink and snack in hand.

Buc-ees is mostly a food, gas, and restroom stop for us. Grab some snacks for the road. Souvenirs are for tourists. But yeah I've bought a few.

Their best feature is their restrooms.

They are going to build another one in Florida near Ocala. There will be a new interstate exchange built just for the Buc-ees. Sounds like they are funding the road construction. That area of I-75 is already a mess and should become unpassable once they get the Buc-ees built.

Florida's newest location is scheduled to open in 2025 and will reportedly include an 80,000-square-foot travel center with more than 100 gas pumps. The Buc-ee's location will sit just east of I-75 near Highway 326 in Ocala. Florida currently has two Buc-ee's locations.
