USPS is terrible.

I suspect these packages have always taken roundabout trips - we just didn't have the ability to obsessively track them with our phones.

Just relax - it'll show up.

The veteran thing got me too. I was in charge of the paramedic program in the FD I orked in. We were hiring 3 more paramedics. I did the interviews...had to interview the top 10 on the tests. Had a vet who had qualifications at #10 spot. I got hire 2 really qualified. The third person I was ordered to hire was the veteran..he had been discharged medically with a back injury. I told the powers that ordered that hire...he couldn't do the job. Bad back picking up injured people carrying saame and since we were a "crash crew" on an Intl Airport may have to pull injured etc people off plane crashes. Told them he was medically unqualified. Got hired and performed pretty well. Worked 2 1/2 years and hurt his back on a routine medical call. . Had to hire a temp till he was finally diagnosed as unable to work. When he went out on a medical I had to hire and train a new paramedic. A new hire with all costs included costs about 2 1/2 times salary and benefits in the first two years. They had to be trained in Aircraft incident and military aircraft rescue. I have to admit I had vets on my shift...and they did good work. I had one promoted to one the lieutenant positions. There are some people who should not be hired just because they are veterans or female or because of race.etc etc . I have to say...one of the best firefighters I ever worked with was a gal in another jurisdiction. She was just good at what she did...and two of my shift paramedics were women...and they were great...Loved working with them...even if I had to kinda protect 'em from some not so politically correct firefighters. Hell we really were all family

I have read the comments and laughed! I know I shouldn't but still did. It looks like we are blaming the USPS and all the other delivery services for the things that go haywire!! I understand!!
The place I work at gets on the average of 15-20 packages a day from various shippers. Do I have problems YES but they are so rare it takes a day or two to remember how to track and fix it.

Now my opinion is that we expect perfection in everybody but the workforce either dont want to live up to our expectations!! Or they might be the people that just dont care and are there that want a paycheck. I work with a bunch of kids!! 19-35 They expect me to do more and more but only want to show up!! That why i am considered to be a crusty old B******. I expect people to do their jobs. I get a little cranky when they dont!! Thank goodness I am not a manager anymore, I can say things they CANT. Thats where the problem is.

My boss says that he sets up anywhere from 5-10 interviews for each opening we have. But if he gets two to show up its a miracle!! My opinion about this is that the people just dont want to work anymore.

Sorry for the long rant but I used to be my bosses Least favorite
employee but these kids keep knocking me out!!!

For me, an order from Midway would get here in 2 days be it UPS or USPS ... sometimes I'd get the package the very next day.
The last 3 traveling USPS toured the nation for weeks.
very recently, I placed an order with DigiKey for some electronic parts. For shipping, I had a choice between UPS or FedEX ... USPS was not even offered, though it used to be.

North Carolina package to KY took 12 days. It was stuck at distribution center in Louisville for 4 days which is only 15 min away from where I live. I try to use UPS for any shipping needs myself.

Don

That first diagram applies to both bills and JUNK MAIL...

Never have had an issue sending or receiving items that were shipped USPS. All seem to get where they need to be in a reasonable amount of time. One time over the holidays, it took an extra couple of days going across the country. That's to be expected.

It's easy to see what has happened there. Some joker probably ordered millions of those small labels and there is no mechanism to return them and get the money back. Then there isn't the money to order the right ones, either that or nobody with the authority or stones to do so.

in order to fix a mistake, you must first admit it was a mistake.

And usps has done very well for me this year

I'm 100% convinced that if my local post office is short a person, there will be an area that doesn't get mail delivered that day.

It's 3:00pm and no mailman has came through my neighborhood today. This has been happening a lot lately.
