I don’t think there’s been a single concise thread here on LEO issued and/or marked semiautomatic pistols, in particular Third Gens, but certainly not limited to.
Let’s start it off with the seldom encountered NYPD 3983. A never adopted model that is rumored to be with only ten in existence.
I have one and Mr. Robert Vivas as four others. Where are the other five???

Anyhow, have at it- let’s see your LE marked Smiths!

Just a CHP4006, if that counts. No custom department engravings, only the unique SN prefix. Quite a few of them out there and I'm glad I picked mine up before the prices doubled.

Todd

The CHP 4006TSW definitely qualifies! I grabbed one years ago also before the price jump. They are incredible workhorses and great shooters.

I had a 5946 stamped APD several years ago. Sold it, only kind of miss it. Never did track down which APD, my best guess was Atlanta.

a few LE models...

I have a few including a 4006TSW CHP (which everyone knows about) and the pictured 4506 and 4044.

The 4506 clearly says Sayre PD 055. and the 4044 was issued to a corrections dept. Supposedly a quantity 512 4044s were produced and I remember one of the Forum members told me in a past thread. Not completely sure though. If someone knows, would love to know and I will make a note on my inventory list...

I also have a 5946 that I was told was NYPD, but is not marked, which came from a Long Island dealer who always has NYPD trade ins.

Any help on identifying the 4044 info would be much appreciated. It has a TVC prefix

Regards, 3GF

Here's my 5946 from Garden City PD, on Long Island, NY. I grew up 2 towns over from there. Garden City is a big bucks area to live. Very small village and department.

I also have 2 NYPD 5946's and an early 3953TSW with the 7 round magazines. None are marked as NYPD but I know they are. The last 5946 I bought came with the box and the documents. Receipt was still in the box from the Equipment Section. Guy who bought it was assigned to the Mid-Town South Detective Squad. Judging by his tax number, he came on in the mid to late 1950's. He must have just taken the free gun before he retired because this gun looks like it was never even holstered. $400 at my local shop.

This is my KSP 4566 TSW. They were built to spec for the Kentucky State Police, delivered and yet never issued to the Troopers. Somebody decided that they needed Glocks instead. I believe mine is from 2003. but not certain. I also believe it to be unfired, but I'm not certain of that either.

I had two of them once upon a time, but someone wanted one and made an offer I couldn't refuse. I keep thinking I ought to take it out back and run some rounds through it, but I haven't yet.

Anyway, they are TSWs, but without the rail. No holes for it either. KSP was using the 1076 up until these were ordered, and the idea was to keep the same holsters for the 4566's. But somebody at Glock did a hell of a sales job, and these supposedly got sent to auction.

Mine were offered to me from a guy (Ex LEO) that worked at a LGS a few years back. I think I paid $800 apiece for them at the time. No idea what they are worth now days.

I had one of the KSP marked 1076's once upon a time ............
