PICS: Model 36 no-dash - Welcome home little buddy

It happens when you least expect it. You walk into to a gun shop just to browse, and the guy behind the counter knows you have an addiction to revolvers. You have no chance… as soon as it's in your hands, you're reaching for your wallet.

I don't have a Chiefs Special yet, and a no-dash snubby seemed like a good candidate for my safe. It has very minimal wear, but it needs some period correct grips. This one sent me back for $450… I'll post pictures on Tuesday after I pick it up and let you guys tell me whether or not I did OK.

I edited it, thanks for the heads up. I also have a 4" 3T 19 no-dash, a snub nose 19–6, a 4" 10–4, a Victory (in white) and a 1917. I'm starting to get the bug again… I need to be careful. This is an expensive hobby… ��

Careful, yes, that you visit your LGS more often to see what else you can add. Get the bug? Sorry, you're bitten already and there is no known cure. Expensive? Maybe, but depends on how YOU value each and every one that pops up!

TwoBitCowboy helped me out detailing the features of mine when I ran across it almost 2 years ago. I had no idea what they were and how nice they were. Mine's a keeper too. Turns out mine is considered a "Baby Chief". The vast knowledge of the members here is amazing!

Alright, here's my newest addition… and a couple of his safe buddies, the 19 no-dash and the 19-6 snubby.

It needs a good cleaning and some wax… and I've already located the correct diamond grips. The rebound slide is varnished… so the trigger is slightly sticky. I'll give it some TLC this weekend.

Wow that is really a nice one. I will add that I too have a Mod 36 inbound.
not as nice as yours as mine has a bit more "character" if you will.
Great little pistol. Got any idea how old it is?

BTW: there's nothing wrong with honest wear… and when they aren't perfect it makes it more fun to just use a them instead of worrying about keeping them perfect.

My recently-acquired Model 36 has some wear on the cylinder. Not enough to hurt its curb appeal, but enough that I wouldn't be afraid to carry it on occasion.

I'll partly buy the era you mentioned, but not what you called the serial
number. That thumbpiece began in February 1966.

I believe you've given us the assembly number.

The serial number is on the bottom of the butt. You'll have to take off
the grips to see it.
