If things get bad and things get worse this is my plan. Please comment on my weapons and tell us yours

If we have an "end of life as we know it" event, I personally hope Italy is spared. You guys have the best wine and cooks on the planet and Italy is one of my most favorite places. Have you been to Urbino? The architecture there is awesome.

As far as your weapon selection, what is the Beretta version of an AR? I would have several of those.
my in-laws were born in Urbino, I know it well, it's a beautiful place, but there are many here. We are lucky.
Beretta AR70/90, SCP70/90, SC 70/90, ARX160 A1- A2- A3 and the new NARP

I've often seen people talk about when the fecal matter strikes the rotary oscillator they're going to their "bug out location", where they have a shelter, and they have long-term food stored, and water. Clothing, tools. Firearms and ammunition.

And I've often wondered. What you going to do when you get to your bug out location and you find out that five people are already there? With your food and your clothing and your tools and your guns?

Seems to me the only way to make sure that your stuff will still be there when you get to your bug out location, is to actually live at your bug out location.

I have a few things ready and more with half an hour notice. If things go South we're good right here. Plenty water, herds of cattle, fish, ducks. Barter is pretty well established here although "precious metal" value will approach zero$ should there be a true apocalypse. I don't spend time/lose sleep planning for it, "He" has provided way more than I have ever needed, even if'n I wasn't doing the "right thing" at the time. Don't expect that will change.

PS, I always enjoyed the "Gunkid tales." Not only the specifics of the "assault wheelbarrow' but his "strategic planning" for his "tactical response team" of "Super Ninja Mall Security guards, armed to the teeth and "protected with vests containing trauma plates capable of stopping .300 mag incoming rounds." Joe

I am a little late to the game, but here is my starter:

It is a H&R "Young American". I got it at a local auction on Sunday for $20 out the door. Next week, I hope to get a box of .22 shorts, some saltines and a grip screw from Ace hardware.

Are you referring to the "starter" as a 1st gun or to start an event(s), etc?
You might get an extra grip screw for a spare if not too expensive as never know when might need it? ;)

It'll be my first gun in my new bug-out bag...I thought about an extra grip screw, but zip ties were much cheaper, so I got a bag of them at the Dollar Tree.:sneaky:

The super ninja Mall security guards was gecko 45.

Or are you saying that gecko and gun kid were one and the same?

I believe so. Even with scorching humiliation they come back. We had a local “Convenience Store Commando” named Dalton Wayne who regaled us with “late-nite retail training fallback tales” that provided endless entertainment. I love these “Mittys.” Joe

I have a bucket of KFC, mashed taters, a battery with 12 hours of 110v at 100 amps, my four favorite movies on DVD and a couple of black pills, just in case the first doesn’t work

I learned how needed 300 Win Mag-rated BACK plates were, because of those threads.

And here I was, worrying about the front like an idiot.
I see that we were in the same places at the same time. The replies to the Gunkid/Gecko45 threads were my favorite..... "If taking multiple hits from a .300 Win Mag in the back is Plan A, you need a Plan B". IIRC, the replies also spawned the chronicles of Mabu and Skeeter.

The joys of late night surfing at 56k.

It ain't a "good plan" if you tell ANYBODY your plan. Doing so is just giving everyone a road map to a supply depot.

But, hey, you do you.
