That's a very nice 19, however, that is not the serial number. Serial number will be on bottom of frame where grips are. You will have to remove the grips to read the number. Number you gave is an assembly number used to keep parts together, frame, side plate, yoke, etc.

I can't tell because of the target stocks that pre-date the 19-2 by quite a few years, but if the 2 1/2-inch barrel is original and the revolver has a square butt, I think it is a rare variation. I know of only two in existence that letter.

That is a 2.5” round butt Model 19-2 with a set of non-relieved target stocks from a square butt revolver. It came with round butt Magna stocks originally. The Model 19-2 was made from about 1963 to 1966, so the s/n range will be from about K515xxx to K715xxx. What is the LGS asking price? If it has the original box and tools, I think around $800-$900 would be fair, maybe a little less because of the non-original stocks. If just the revolver alone, I’d offer $600 and see what the counter offer is. It is a fine looking revolver, and if in mechanically sound condition, i.e. no discernible endshake, no push off, and smooth trigger pull with tight lockup and minimal flame cutting, I’d go to $700. Also be sure to check the forcing cone area with a good light and magnification for any cracks. Just remember tax and background will add to it, so even at $700, you’re still looking at almost $800 out the door.

My friend recently sold his like new 19-2 snub for $1k,
Ive never seen a snub 19 with a square butt frame , all have been round butt and wearing non diamond Magnas but anything is possible with SW.
The non relieved stocks are way earlier as stated,
On a side note, I suspect it shipped with Magna stocks only because theres no serial stamped in the yoke cut but if it is a square butt frame that just means it shipped with magnas.
Its not a converted 4" because the topstrap has the snub lines.

I have a 2-1/2" 19 but mine is a -3 model. Round butt but I put some nice rosewoods on it. Also have a 19C Performance Center. These are perfectly sized carry guns for a serious carry caliber.
Forgot about that. Would you have the side by side comparison pic? I have seen the pic in the past but not sure which thread.

The 19-2 snub was the first 19 snub and had a fairly short production run compared to the 19-3 which is the same gun but with the new rear sight leaf screw location.
