I thought I would share some pictures of an early K22 and K38 with the LERKs. I heard that there was not a K38 known a past the 4000 serial number range. This one is is only 89 numbers past but it makes me wonder if there is another one.

Anyway here are some Friday pics.

Great guns!!! From the records that I used to keep, there are not many K-38 Masterpiece LERKs. I did see another early one sell recently on GB. I was a bidder on it as it was two SN adjacent to my K-38 Masterpiece LERK, but several someones wanted it more than me. I hope that it ended up with someone on the forum. Mine is K4564, and I the one that recently sold was K4566 (link to completed auction https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1110377199 ).

I would have thought that was a steal, with only a dozen or so known K38 LERK. But I may be behind the current values. Thanks for the info!!

I thought it was a steal. It was mislabled and had a McGivern bead FS. I did not have one already, I would have gladly paid twice that amount! I probably should have continued bidding anyway... :(

I bought this LERK K-38 some years back. I do not think you will see a higher serial number than this one. Strange I would say. Looks like the factory was using up old parts. Pretty cool if you ask me. Shipped May 1948.20250809_115951.jpg20250809_115957.jpg20250809_120013.jpg
