Your opinion on Bodyguard 2.0 vs LCP Max?

I have both and the BG2.0 is a tiny amount longer and taller, but thinner. It certainly is much easier to grip, shoot and control. I have no problem pocket carrying either. The LCP Max will be gone shortly, never to be missed.

My question is (other than capacity) if you want something to simply drop in gym shorts pocket. Why not a regular LCP? I've handled and fired all three. I've had all three in my pocket. The BG and Max feel like a mini 9 when compared to the LCP. May as well get a 365 or Hellcat.
IME, the BG2.0 is superior to both the BG1.0 and the LCP. Easier controls, higher capacity, better shooter. The trigger safety is much better than the one the BG1.0 has.
The BG2.0 has a split feed ramp and, IME, JHP rounds to do feed reliably. Previously, I used Sig Crown V ammo but they wouldn't feed consistently. Switching to Hornady Critical Defense FTX (a filled tip JHP which mimics a FMJ round) solves the feeding reliability issue.
I will also polish feed ramp and do so when I clean the pistol).

Yes it's superior but at the cost of being big. I'd step up to a 9mm if carrying that much bulk

What "bulk"? It's tiny and very thin.
I think it's big for a 380. In my mind the whole idea of a 380 is that it's much smaller than a 9. This is where the LCP shines. The BG2 not so much. Just my opinion

I own both the P365 and the BG2.0. (and a Ruger LCP Max) After carrying the BG on my daily jog the P365 has never left the safe. It feels and weighs like a boat anchor comparatively. My opinion as well.

I saw that and also thought that leaving out the weight difference was a pretty big oversight.

Unloaded, the P365 is 6.2 oz heavier, making it 53% heavier than the BG 2.0. That may not be all that significant with a belt carried duty gun, but that's quite a bit if we're talking pocket carry. That's pretty close to the difference between an unloaded M&P 2.0 full size (27.7 oz with mag) and a Shield with the 8 round mag (21 oz) on my kitchen scale.

It is notable that the BG2.0 weighs less and is narrower than the LPC (and the P365). But from a practical point of view, the most important difference is that the grip on the BG 2.0 is usable. You can get your full hand on with the 12 round mag and many people can even get their little finger on with the 10 round mag.

There are two reasons for this. One thing is that the split feed ramp shortens the height of the slide. The height that is taken from the slide can go to the grip without making the entire gun taller. The other design change that helps the grip is the deep trigger guard undercut that allows your hand to move up on the grip, increasing the usable portion of the grip.

The first time I picked up a BG 2.0 and got my entire large hand on the grip, I said out loud to the LGS employee, "Wow! I can't even do that with a Glock 19." To do it with a light and narrow pocket pistol is remarkable.

And we haven't even talked about the trigger yet. :)

It looks like you have the old Cabela's hiking pants. I have some just like them. Great pants and love the pockets. Can they be bought now? Haven't seen them listed.
Jim , check out the Wrangler version of these pants. They can be found at Walmart. Only difference I see is the lower pocket might be a touch lower on the Wranglers.

I can't find them listed anymore, but I have a few dozen pair of them.

I need a pocket pistol terribly. I want a 10+1 380 that I can truly throw in a draw string shorts and go out with the family.

I've been looking at the LCP Max and the BG 2.0

I really, and I mean really want to like the BG 2.0 but I've seen and read so many issues (same issues, not numerous). They are dead triggers and really poor accuracy.
Not sure problems with the BG2.0 are fixed. My store had 4 in stock and one on display. One out of five had their sights aligned. Bought it. Had to work the safety about 200-300 times to loosen it up so I could put it off with my thumb. Next the recoil spring was partly over the end of the operating rod. Couldn't put the pistol back together. Complained to S&W. Poor answer.

Smith & Wesson has acknowledged your feedback on the S&W Bodyguard 2.0 and you've been advised to purchase an aftermarket operating rod due to a manufacturing issue.

Had to polish the feed ramps. Function is ok after running a hundred or so rounds of different ammo brands. Lastly, had to trim a piece of the magazine follower that would hang up in the magazine catch slot.

Great gun after all the fixes.
