After seeing a recent post by a S&W Forum member, Rafter-S, for some J-frame pocket holsters he made for friends.

Shown below:

I decided it was time to order my first ever, custom, handmade holster! I contacted Rafter-S (Bill Sebastian), via PM, and asked if he'd consider making me one similar. He responded immediately, and was very willing to accommodate me, and the next day, my check was in the mail! Only $20 + $7 for Priority Mail shipping, awesome!

Even more surprising, it was in my mailbox about two weeks later! It fits my gun perfect, and it's the best pocket holster for jeans I've ever owned. Very little bulk, much less than the Desantis Nemesis, I used to use. It doesn't print, keeps the gun in place, yet totally releases it when needed.

Living in the big cities, there's definitely a 'Cool Factor', when you show your friends you have a custom, handmade holster, from a true craftsman, down in Texas!

Maybe Mr. Sebastian will post pictures of his other holsters, they're beautiful!

Here is his contact info:

Great looking little holster. I'd say you got your money's worth.

I thought that Rafter S went out of business. At least that's what I heard. I wonder if they are the same folks that made this fancy rig for me about 7 or 8 years ago? It is full-quill ostrich with alligator trim and mag pouch. The folks I dealt with at that time were Della and Steve. Never heard the name Bill mentioned in our conversations. Maybe they started back up.

f.t.

p.s. This rig was slightly more than $20 though.

Looked up that username, heck he's in Telephone TX!

That's pretty close by for me. I may have to go over and visit him. :D

Gentlemen,
No, I am not the former Steve and Della of Rafter-S Leather. Rafter-S is the name of my ranch and my cybe meme on this forum. I make leather holsters as a relaxing hobby. Several of my neighbors, who are also ranchers, wear my holsters as they work from horseback and pickup trucks. I make a few holsters for others if I have the gun to mold the leather by. All my holsters are double leather with smooth leather inside and outside. They are built to last in a rough environment. Here is one (winner takes his pick or I make one to fit his pistol) that will be auctioned this Saturday to support our local volunteer fire department. Normally I get $100+/- depending on the size and leather required.
