Anyone had the opportunity to handle the Taurus "View".....38 special, 1" barrel, hammerless, 5 shot revolver, 9.5oz MT?

I read a few reviews. I like the concept as far as a light weight carrry and don't mind the one inch barrel for that job. The "view" part, though, is kind of gimmicky. I would think a light weight alloy plate of some sort would be just as light. Is anyone going to actually look through the window while firing the gun, just to see what the action in...action?
One article gave a price of $350. At that price, it's mine. But two other articles said $599. Big discrepancy.
At a price around $400 it is a competitor with some SW J Frame .38s.

Whew....I thought it was going to have a roller etching of Barbara Walters's mug on it!

Yes it's ugly, but at least it's not scary!!!!

One of the nicest belly guns I've seen was the S&W 37 (-2?) with the boot grip and shaved hammer. And you know what? It didn't have a clear sideplate.

I pass.

I forced myself to watch that video of the Taurus CEO mope espousing the virtues of that revolver. After watching him it all makes sense to me now. I've had a couple Tauri revolvers in the past (namely 65 and 66 older .357's) but I would never have a new one if that jamoke is involved.
I wonder if they'll make target model "view" .

9oz five shot .38spcl micro revolver... I've heard of a lot worse ideas than this.

I pocket carry so this one is of interest to me. The short ejection rod doesn't concern me much because I'm not luging around a bunch of speed loaders anyway. The canted grip is interesting (pic). I'm not too interested in how pretty or not the gun is... I'll leave that critique to the experts. Definitely will want to get one of these in my hands to check it out.

Yer looking at the wrong end

Yes it's ugly, but at least it's not scary!!!!

Aren't they all supposed to be ugly & scary if someone has one pointed at them?

I would like a chance to test drive one, but being frugal, prolly won't have one any time soon.

This gun reminds me of the old I-frame S&W. While I never cared much for Taurus I have to admit the 85 platform is a good revolver, and the cut grip frame seem ideal for some users. My grandmother has tiny hands and is considering handgun for nightstand duty. If the grip is a small as it looks in the pics this would be perfect for her, and much better than a mousegun like a Jetfire.
If anyone reviews one or has one please let me know!
