Yellowstone jumped the shark?

Is it just me or has Yellowstone jumped the shark? No storyline, endless commercials, constant self promotion of spin-offs.

I'm unfamiliar with shark jumps, but it takes a very popular show to get away with such described faults and not lose audience.

Taylor Sheridan might be spending all his time on the 1883 production and didn't have time for Yellowstone. It was very weird.

The phrase "jumping the shark" is used to argue that a creative outlet or work appears to be making a misguided attempt at generating new attention or publicity for something that is perceived to be once, but no longer, widely popular.

"Jumping the shark" was coined in 1985 by Jon Hein. He developed it in response to a 1977 episode from the fifth season of the American sitcom Happy Days, in which Fonzie (Henry Winkler) jumps over a shark while on water-skis.

Today it is most commonly used in reference to perceived unsuccessful gimmicks for promoting something, by critics who believe that a television show has strayed irretrievably from an older and better formula, that its writers have exhausted their focus, or that the series as a whole has declined in quality.

I came to that conclusion after the first one or two episodes and couldn't bear to watch any more of it.

And I fear that the prequel, "1883" may be in the same boat.

Mileage will certainly vary...but that's my take.

There is a Season 4 of Yellowstone in production so I don't think they have run out of plots. 1883 off to a good start as well. Taylor Sheridan bought the 6666 Ranch for over 300mill. to save it from being purchased by a foreign buyer. Considering all the violence, sex and foull language in general on TV today these shows are no worse. If you enjoy these two shows you should watch the Mayor of Kingstown. It puts Rikers Island to shame.

Well, they’ve stopped even trying to make the 1883 and 6666 interludes fit into the story. Crackhead Jimmy’s Lone Star romance and scruffy cowboys shooting even scruffier cowboys with 94 Winchesters in 1883 just get thrown in there.

I hope when those shows start up the within-episode promos go away.

Pretty good shoot ‘em up this week.

Liked the ending on last night's show.
Ended with a bang so to speak.
I see a new sheriff in the future.......???

RE: 1883
I see alot of grave diggin on he way west.

The Sheriff was one of the Duttons’ hooks. Will Kaycee be the new Sheriff?

Anyone notice the Bodyguard the Sheriff pulled? Looked like maybe a 638?

For the people that think there is to much profanity-----

Y'all should spend a year or two on a construction job. A big construction job with several hundred rowdy workers from many trades. When several states and even a few countries are represented on the job it really gets very interesting. One never knows what you might hear or see.
