Nice, someone else onboard here has good taste in a soft drink (Fresca rocks, been drinking it since the 70's), I mix mine with Crown, never tried it with any other spirit, might have to try some with Vodka come this summer (sounds like a refreshing drink on a hot day).
Somewhere around age 13 some friends and I were camping in the woods. We had "borrowed" a bucket of green plums from a neighbor and were eating them with salt. One of us (probably me) came up with the bright idea of acquiring some alcohol from somewhere. I remembered my Dad had a half gallon of gin stored in the back of a cabinet. Someone had given it to him many years ago and since he didn't drink gin it just sat there. I snuck in the house and got the bottle and took it back to our camp. We tried a few shots straight and realized we needed to mix it with something. All we had to mix it with was a large jar of hot grape Kool-Aid and so we did. It was long before we were crawling around hurling the contents of our stomachs all over the camp. A hot sun woke us the next morning. A couple of the guys were missing. We found one up a tree. He said something about being safe from mountain lions that don't even live around here. Another we found lying on his back in a water filled ditch, the water was about an inch from his nose. We were all still very sick. The remnants of chewed green plums, pork and beans, and Vienna sausage and a sick looking liquid covered the inside of our tent. Most of us had passed out in the mixture when we could heave no more. I haven't had gin since. I'll stick to bourbon and beer or an occasional glass of wine depending on the occasion.
The G&T serves as good preventive medicine. I have yet to contract Malaria or Scurvy.
After my hitch in the Navy, I will agree the G&T is a great preventative. However, after 5 or 6 drinks, I start talking like a pirate. Aaargh!
Oh, I wouldn't think of signing a contract with either of those young ladiesThe G&T serves as good preventive medicine. I have yet to contract Malaria or Scurvy.
