A Couple of Lew Horton 44 Specials

Lots of beauties posted here. Love 'em. However, I've been thinking of getting out of the .44 Special business. I have one Lew Horton 24-3 (3" barrel) with a superb action/trigger, one Ruger old model Blackhawk converted to .44 Spec (probably the smoothest/sweetest single action/trigger...

    NEVADA STATE REVOLVER CHAMPIONSHIP

Great. Thanks. So, one need not be an ICORE member to win a firearm? (No big deal to me; just a departure from what I've seen in the past.) Lookin' forward to it. Gonna be a GREAT match!

    NEVADA STATE REVOLVER CHAMPIONSHIP

Is that backwards? In my experience at ICORE Regional matches, you don't have to be an ICORE member to shoot, BUT you DO have to be a member to win a firearm. I reckon either way is fine with me, but just wondering. Larry NV2472

    NEVADA STATE REVOLVER CHAMPIONSHIP

Match name has been changed ("upgraded"?) to be the "ICORE Southwest Regional". Same great match as MWC originally indicated.

The hunt for the elusive 3" 625 Revolver

Marine24, I agree. I too have wanted a 3" 625 for a long time. I actually bought a nice 25 (M1955) to shorten and customize. But then changed my mind and sold it in hopes of finding a somewhat reasonably priced 3" M625. No luck yet. Regrettably, I did pass up a M625-10 2" about three...

.38 Short Colt Loads for USPSA

Agreed. I use .38 Short Colt for both ICORE and USPSA. ICORE minimum PF is 120. USPSA minimum PF is 125. My load is about 128 PF. Some folks want a bit more, which is no problem.

.38 Short Colt Loads for USPSA

I realize this is an old thread, but I just noticed it. I was (and to some degree still am) a M625 .45ACP shooter for both USPSA and ICORE. But I finally "bit the bullet" and got a M627 after USPSA implemented the new rule to allow 8-shot revolvers (minor PF). Which case to use? I...

    Jeweled hammers and triggers

I only have one with jeweling: Just a personal preference, but seems to me it only looks right if the handgun is otherwise embellished/engraved.

    S&W Airlite

I think my M317 (no dash) is a fairly early specimen. Serno CCK4xxx Cannot remember when I bought it; probably 1998 or 99 or so. In original press releases, I recall S&W indicated and pictured a pinned front sight and those pretty wooden grips. I was a bit disappointed that mine did not...

What Jerry Miculek did to the 625

I don't think you are required to hate moon clips! But yes, "Classic" Div is for NON-moon-clipped SIX shot revolvers.

RECOMMENDATION FOR AN ENGRAVER FOR MY S&W SCHOFIELD

Contact info for engraver Mark Hykes, Sparks, Nevada: Call Silver Bullet Gun Works, 775-331-8228. Here's another example of his work. The first (of only two) I had him engrave. I wish now I had polished it before engraving and rebluing; would have been a prettier blue. But it still looks...

    Jerry Miculek grips

Both Dillon Precision and Hogue list them for sale. Apparently, folks love 'em or hate 'em. I LOVE 'em!
