I was hoping to get some concences on JM grips.

I am planning to make my own set from a block of laminate as the color I want is not available...

Does anyone know of a site or link with exact mesurments?,
Or would anyone be willing to throw some calipers on theirs for me?,, thanks a ton :D

What kind of measurements do you need?

I have a set I took off a round-butt N-frame (625-JM).

Height/depth/width, maybe with calipers.

A little drawing would be great.

Unless I could give you a deposit and pay shipping and borrow them for a couple days so I could trace them right on the block.

I was thinking about buying a set to do it but than I would be stuck having to sell them. I don't like any of the ones available, I just want to give the shape a try.

There are two types of "JM appearing" grips that come on S&W's. The real ones are made by Hogue and, since they are essentially one piece, would be pretty difficult to use as a pattern without destroying the model.

The others are two-piece grips with the lateral grip screw. These you could use as a pattern.

Good luck with your project.

Adios,

Jerry M.'s grips are very slick, small and round. I have a set and don't feel the magic. JM uses them for fast shooting ... I think you would be better off with any other of the many factory options.

You would IMHO be wasting your time trying to whittle out a pair from a block of wood, buy 'em from Hogue or off eBay, you'll be saving in the long run.

There are plenty that say they do not care for them
I thought Finding a set to purchase would be easy
Not so

I was lucky and purchased a set off of ebay really cheap. They were for a N frame but fit my L frame fine after a little sanding. They are great for my smaller hands. Good luck on you're project.

yep, what he said.
Mine is for the K-frame SB and are some of the slickest grips I've tried.
BTW, my trigger speed hasn't increased one bit while using them. :)
