As others have said, they are an excellent defensive addition. In addition they are made for the long haul. I do not baby my weapons and they get bounced around a bit. So far the Crimson Trace has taken a lickin and kept on tickin.

I am really pleased with my most recent purchase. It is a 29-3 manufactured on Jan 23, 1983. It is in absolutely pristine condition. Just a faint turn line. No scratches on the blueing or wood. No indication of wear on any surface. As far as I can tell it must have been a safe queen...

I know, I know. That is how I ended up with my 19-3.

They work great, and as stated they are harder than other primers. I have used over 15k of them in SP, LP, SRM and LPM and never had one fail. I am hooked on them.

I would definately crimp for a semiauto. As stated above, you don't want the bullet seating deeper in the case.
