How many firearms do you own that you have never shot?

It has been interesting reading the posts. Jimmy, sorry to hear about your need to divest yourself of your collection. Hope all goes well.

I am in the category of not having any weapons that have not been fired. In fact it is so bad that I usually shoot a new or new to me weapon within a few hours of acquisition.

Only ONE, a small ring Mauser in 7X57 that I bought as a project. Maybe some day I'll start working on that project. The hardest part has been, "Do I want to yank the barrel and put on a new one or just a sporter stock and see how it shoots first?"

Time will tell. :)

I've got 4... The first one is a single shot rifle from about 1900 that I inherited when my grandfather died. It shoots .32 rimfire (I think) and I haven't found any yet.

The other three are recent acquisitions, and I haven't had a chance yet ;-)

Best of luck jimmyj, I hope all will be well and you can begin replacing those guns soon!

I have lots of rifles in oddball calibers that I am selling, I don't ever foresee doing much shooting with stuff like 8mm Kropatschek or 10.4 Italian Ordnance. Besides I can sell them and buy more S&W revolvers in a caliber I shoot the most, .38-.357!

I have quite a few revolvers I just haven't had a chance to shoot. I usually take stuff I have just bought and shoot 6 rounds through it in my little backyad range just to make sure it works.

I have a 6 that are NIB and haven't been fired.

Belgian Browning .22 Rifle in Grade II
S&W K-22 (pre-17)
S&W Model 15 K-38 Combat Masterpiece
S&W Model 16 full lug .32 Mag that I bought from a fellow Forum member
S&W 686 Plus (pre-lock) a gift from a friend
Colt Python Target .38 8" barrel in Nickel

There are a few more that are used and were fired by my grandfather or my daddy, but not by me. The only one worth mentioning is a Remington Rolling Block in .32 RF.

I had a NIB Model 18 from about 1971 but I couldn't resist shooting it. I wanted to shoot at least one S&W .22 RF. It had a few slight blemishes and the cylinder catch had rubbed on the frame, so it wasn't absolutely perfect. I was a little disappointed in it. A Model 41 or a 14 will shoot circles around it.

The one that tempts me most is the .32 Mag.

Best of luck Jimmyj.

I have no safe queens. They've all been shot. Too many guns, not enough time to shoot all of them as much as I want. Some get used a lot. Some very little. Does this mean I could sell all but the few that get used and be happy? Nah.

Most of my milsurps are safe queens, a combination of lack of ready access to a proper rifle range, in some cases-my M1886 Lebel & M1907/15, my M1895 Mannlichers-ammunition is hard to come by. I buy them for the history, no different than having a rare coin or a painting or photograph, you buy them to have, to contemplate, not to use.

As I am into antique S&W's I have several that haven't been fired, in the #1, and # 1 1/2 size. But I have fired one of the #1 1/2 (CF) and it was surprisingly accurate. There are also a few .32 DA top-breaks, and at least one Mauser that just haven't been to the range yet.

One...but only because I bought it yesterday and haven't had a chance to take it out for a spin (I will on Wednesday).

they are for shooting.

None! I shoot them all.

+1; if it is a collector's item, you are talking to the wrong guy.
Edit:
(OK, having read some posts, I will modify, haven't had a chance to shoot my new (to me) snubby yet.)

None.

Probably because I can't afford to buy guns that I don't shoot. haha.

When I buy something, all I think about is shooting it until it happens.

Only one.

In a multiple gun deal - I picked up a Weatherby MK-V in 300 Weatherby Magnum. I figure if I ever get to go out West after elk, it will be the right rifle - but for 30 years, it's just been hanging out in the safe, telling the other guns stories. :D

Take care,
Bob S.

I have a large collection and moved from a place where you could shoot in the middle of town, and had to move to take care of ailing parents eight years ago and have not found a place to shoot in the God forsaken state. But, I kept buying and never sell or trade. I have a LOT that I haven't had the opportunity to shoot. Maybe, one day.

Only one new gun a S&W M&P 15-22. However, I have two AK47's and a 40cal that I bought used and haven't shot yet.

Two that are unfired

2 Consec numbered 410s's w factory crimson laser grips, new. Hopefully for my 3 yr old grandson to use or sell for $

Three:

10-5 4" nickel with box and papers, unfired
30-1 2" box and papers, unfired
Model 1, 3rd Issue. Blued and factory engraved.

I have plenty of other pistols in 38 Spl and 32 Long, so there is no need to get the 10-5 and 30-1 dirty. As for the 1st, 3rd, I just don't want to risk breaking something on a gun made in 1872.

I always said that ALL my guns have a specific need to own and to shoot.

Then, a few months ago, this really nice 1970 nickel 27-2 moved in.

So far I've resisted the urge . . . but someday I'll probably shoot it too. It is literally almost to nice to shoot.
