Decisions 44 Mag or 460 Mag Need Opinions

.44 for sure. If it is your first big bore magnum, I would say you will find the 629 easier to control and more enjoyable to shoot, especially as a dedicated hunting rig. If you intend on concealed carry with a .44 or just prefer a smaller belt gun, the 69 would be nice. I have a 629 and a...

To grind or remove IL flag

You are overthinking it. Leave the lock in and be happy.

To grind or remove IL flag

Leave it alone or remove it entirely. Only plug it for aesthetic reasons, my opinion is the hole is a non-issue as far as contaminant intrusion is concerned.

    Pro Series Stamp?

Make sure you aren't actually looking at the special run of .38's they made for a distributor. Exact same gun all the way around but chambered in .38. I have no idea why they wouldn't just chamber them in .357 but they did, and I believe they lack the pro series designation.

    Keys to Frame Lock

Ridiculous. As I see it, you have only two real choices. #1. Get out the screwdriver and remove the storage device. #2. Buy another Smith that comes with two keys and pirate one of them for your old gun. I support either option!

Any of you all into CB Radio?

I have had one in every truck since I was 16. I don't talk too much, but it has saved me a handful of times regarding traffic and road conditions. The radios with the built in NOAA frequencies are even better. I am also a ham, but CB is still the best thing going for interstate traffic, etc...

    PSA: Check your tires!

My experience in agriculture and living down a flint rock dirt road was LT tires seemed to have fewer punctures than p-metric tires. I have never understood people who thought they rode rough. I drive a 3/4 ton diesel that has to have load range E tires, and it doesn't seem to ride rough...

    PSA: Check your tires!

Probably under inflated. LT tires require MORE pressure than P-metric tires of a given load. It is contrary to most peoples intuition, but it is true. There are charts to help set the proper pressure, but 40 pounds sounds a bit too low to me.

    Canada solutions needed

Stash it in the woods under a rotten hollow log. Leave a note on the very off chance someone finds it, explaining you will be back to retrieve them when you return from Canada.

How Many Amateur Radio Operators Here?

Just an FYI for some that do not know, posting your full call is equivalent to posting your full name and address. Some are not comfortable doing that on the net, especially a firearm oriented site.

Spotting Scope Mount - My Latest Shop Project

Brilliant. Probably not a good solution for use in the field, but I bet it works way better than a cheap tripod on the bench.

model 60 standard vs Pro series

The barrel is cosmetic. I have a 60 pro (wife's gun) and like the cosmetics. The grip is different, as is the front sight. It may have a smoother action, but you would just have to try and see. It does not have a chamfered cylinder. If you like the grip and front sight, it would coat more to...
