That 1927 signature looks a lot different than this 1931 one when he worked for H&R.

I think those grips are correct. At least the Lew Horton 629-1 I looked at last summer had them. Identical to yours. I was surprised at how roughly finished they were.

Well, its been buffed so hard the S&W logo is gone completely from the side. If I was selling that revolver, and someone offered me $300.00, I'd be on it like a duck on a June bug. Hope this was helpful and good luck.

My only comment is that it is a re-blue. And not a very good job at that. Notice the plum colored barrel and cylinder and dished screw holes. Good luck with it.

You may have paid a lot, but you got a super nice Highway Patrolman there. Its getting harder and harder to find them like that. Most have the hammer and trigger changed out to the target variety, replacement grips, and WO and RR sights. Yours looks like a pureblood.
