    LEO Question

An AR15? Until the OP said that, I had thought he was talking Seattle in 2001 timeframe, but I thought the partner had used a handgun on that one. As I recall from articles at the time, SPD threw the officer partially under the bus, saying he had violated policy by reaching into the car...

.38 Bodyguard - Another lead balloon for S&W???

I hadn't noticed the clockwise rotation. I agree, that could be problematic. I guess I like the concept of the inexpensive, polymer revolver, but am not sure why they put in some of the features they did on this one.

.38 Bodyguard - Another lead balloon for S&W???

I haven't fired one, but have handled one. I thought the ambi cylinder release was an interesting idea, but it would take some training for me to get used to it. I didn't care for the trigger, and don't know how hard it would be to tune. I found the grips too small for my hand, and I'm not...

What 3 inch is Easiest to Conceal?

My 13-3 3" is one of my favorite guns - and I'm more an auto guy than a revolver guy. So the 3" is too big for pocket... I'm not going to pocket carry a K-frame, so I don't care. It's too short for hunting... that's why I have a 6" Model 29. But the 3" balances well, points well, clears...

    My second dog attack.

If I were the dog's actual owner, I would be seriously ticked at my cousin when I got home from the sand box. Doubt he realized his dog would be left to run loose...

    Apex Trigger

The DCAEK doesn't lighten the trigger so much as smooth it. DC is Duty Carry. The competition kit lightens the trigger.

    Apex Trigger

I have to disagree about the video's helpfulness, at least for a new owner. The video assumes you know how to pull the sear block, and jumps into the demo with the block already removed. I had to have a friend show me how to do that; wasn't all that hard, but it was NOT covered in the video...

    M&P front sight

For measuring, you want a micrometer. For adjustment, the sight adjustment tool. You didn't ask about the rear sight, but just in case... The M&P has a very small Allen type screw in the rear, which needs to be backed off prior to adjusting the sight.

    M&P 45 fullsize and 45c

Owning both I prefer the full-size, but there are times when the compact's shorter grip is much easier to conceal. I have a couple t-shirts under which I can conceal the full-size, but I can conceal the compact under a lot more of them. I'm currently carrying the compact under a...

    45 FS v 45 Midsize or 45C

I have to admit, I don't see the advantage to the midsize. I have a 45 and a 45c. There is only a 1/2" difference in the slides, and I honestly see no difference in concealability with regard to that 1/2". OTOH, I see a LOT of difference in concealability between the FS and compact grips. I...

    Apex Upgrades

I installed most of the DCAEK kits into my 45 and 45c. Ok, more accurately, I assisted a much more technically skilled friend while he installed them in my pistols. We ended up not using the trigger springs from the kits, but changed out the sear and plunger components. The trigger block is...

    S&W M&P 45?

With regard to the Serpa: 1) I have used one, and liked it well enough; but 2) You really have to make sure to keep your trigger finger straight on the draw. There was a recent viral video where a guy had his finger already curled, and it slid from the holster release right onto the...

    45C and 9mmC

As far as holsters go, some may work with both, but some will not. I have the 45c; it's not as easy to find holsters as it is for the 9c. The 45s are wider through slide and frame, so a snug 9 holster will not fit a 45. As far as CT grip backstraps go, I don't know if they are...

    m&p 45c vs glock 19/23

    Wouldn't a comparison of the M&P45c with a G30 or G36 make more sense?
