I actually ended up sending it back to Smith & Wesson I’ll let you know how that goes.

Now I usually buy ammo for a GUN I want. Next thing you know I have to get the gun to shoot the ammo. If course it took me 27 years to be able to shoot that 7.62x54t I bought way back when!!

Where is the best place to get factory parts?

After a quick check I agree with the advice. I am also contacting S&W like the other poster did to see what they say first. It is a new gun to me, un-modified my me but something is amiss.

It is looking like the classic DX was a round butt. Are you sure about either if yours was square or the designation?? Thank you for your help.

Does it exist and if so which model is it? I have a 686 just as above (except 357) and am looking for a companion for it. I picked up a new Classic hoping to change out the grips to the older target grips when I found out it had a round butt. Thank you for any help, Thomas

I never saw if any of the round #2 FTF ever had a strike on it from the firing pin??

OOPS you are right my bad!!

You cannot break down the .223 cans for cleaning. The .22 round will quickly foul things up.

22 weeks now. The other semi local shop has them both on the shelf do tomorrow I am getting my deposit back and going with the other shop. SOMEONE has screwed up for sure. Will not be going back into the first shop again. I am pretty sure it was them that made the mistake. If only they had just...
