Picked one up and went to the range today. It was sunny with a fresh layer of snow so it was very bright outside. I had no problem seeing the dot but it could have been a touch brighter, my 15-22 has a cheap NC Star red dot which was brighter but it also has a larger dot. It's listed as a 4 MOA but it looks closer to a 2 MOA. But again it was very bright out lots of reflection of the snow and I could still see it fine. It held zero for 200 rounds with no problems. Now for the bad news after 10 rounds it went out totally dead and none of the controls would respond. I checked the battery connections for an obstruction 5 rounds later it was back on. It seems that mine was defective from the factory with a short in the power system. It was on and off all day, I stopped at Gander Mountain on the way home and exchanged it. I can't say it's a *** yet as even the best products occasionally have defective units. Like the Leupold VXIII on my Weatherby 300mag that had a defective reticle it was replaced and has been fine for the last 18 years. If however I go to the range next week and have any other problems it would have to be more than a rare defective unit in which case I will return it and post on every Internet forum what a *** it is stay tuned.
