CCW badges

I must concur with the consensus here. To me it would take a real "goober" to want to carry a CCW badge. Seems to me that if you really just want/need to demonstrate that you are licensed to carry that you could just show your license? The badge just identifies you as a goober. :D

I find offense to those that say carrying one of these badges is like volunteer firefighters putting lights on their private vehicles! In Kentucky a light and siren is mandatory for responders who are responding to the station to drive the firetruck......ever try running multiple red lights without lights and siren . . .

That's a whole 'nother debate. Frankly, I have nothing but respect and appreciation for volunteer firefighters, but I also don't have a problem stopping and writing meathead volunteer firefighters tickets for abusing the emergency light/siren law. There is no reason to be busting through town at 80 MPH in a S-10 pickup with a red light on the dash, yet I see it all too often.

So, you're one of them people that, "I need to keep it locked up so the kid won't play with it"?

Do you keep the kitchen knives locked in a safe? The furniture polish? The Clorox? The power tools? The lawnmower gasoline?

Probably not. Why aren't you worried about the kids scalping each other with the paring knife? Drinking the Old English? Giving the dog a haircut with the SkilSaw? Pouring straight Clorox in their eyes?

Could it be because you have taught the kids that these things are dangerous, and are not toys to be played with?

It's not just our guns. There seems to be a mindset here.

Several years ago I saw a guy wearing an emblem with wings on it sewn to the back of a sleeveless denim vest at the bike shop I patronize. While the guy looked 'suburban' to me, I thought he might be an Angel, and I went over to meet him.

Turns out he was a member of the HOG chapter, which uses a winged emblem. If you sew the patches on in a certain way, they look like colors.

Now you can buy SOA rags on line. I've seen four of these guys.

I'll bet you a chocolate chip cookie I wouldn't be allowed to practice medicine, however.

I wonder how many holes he put in the walls of his house before he decided to make those videos with the gun uncharged...

Is imbesilly a word? If not it should be.

Actually, this brings back a bad memory. A buddy of mine had a young child who got into some Old English furniture polish and died. It indeed is a good idea to childproof your home and keep toxic substances away from very young children. I also know of an instance (another buddy) where his 4 year old got a hold of a loaded revolver and was able to shoot it. He had laid it on the kitchen table and went back into the bedroom to get something. In that case, luckily, no one was injured.

I can understand the value of a badge where open carry is legal (my state) to deter citizens calling in there's a man walking around with a gun. Many observers would assume its a LEO and ignore it. The armed individual would not have to specifically claim to be an officer if others assumed it.

But I still think it is a dumb idea and could open the person up to impersonation accusations.

Some don't stop with a badge.

I think that is a picture of a private security vehicle (Ford Ka) in Mexico with a CCW badge photo-shopped over the company emblem.

That said, even if photoshop, it still looks as ridiculous as a goober carrying a CCW badge.

Pass the excedrin please. Another painful necessity- watching this guy again. (the youtube glock dude)
My old daddy said "them that talks don't know, and them that knows don't talk."
How'd you like to be this characters next door neighbor? You'd be patching up the hardyplank every weekend....
.....
Mexico has "aprobado" which is an I.D. that comes with political affiliation to the latest winning party, and that pretty much allows one to do whatever one wants to. Kinda like "bein' a made guy" in "Donny Brasco".

What earthly good would be something you could get out of a Cracker Jacks box (i.e. buy on the internet)?

Like seeing a bad accident, can't take my eyes off of. Scary part when the video finishes Youtube lists additional videos "Concealed Carry/Home invasion precautions #8" and even a #9.

Don't you see all of these creatures you need to see at every gun show !?
Barf!!
Blessings
