I am slowly building up my slush fund to get a full sized 9mm, and I should be able to make a purchase by mid-September at the latest. If you talked to me 2 months ago, I would have told you I think I have all the guns I need/want and I have no plans on getting anymore. Well, those of you that are "sick" like I am knows how that goes and I decided a 9mm would be a nice addition.

I was at my favorite LGS last week after shooting at their range, browsing the 9's. The clerk at the store eventually steered me to the CZ75B, after I was checking out the SR9, M&P full size, and the Springfield XD. I didn't know they had a CZ and, to be honest, never thought about them, since I was pretty much either going with the SR9 or the full sized M&P. The trigger on the CZ was very, very nice and I warmed up to it quickly. I liked the fact it was all steel, and had the DA/SA trigger. I pretty much liked everything about the gun, how it felt in my hand, etc. It went to the top of my list.

Reviews, including 2 made on YouTube by Hickock45 are positive. Does anyone own one and what are your thoughts? BTW, I still like to keep my firearm buys under $600 OTD if at all possible, and if anyone has any other full size 9mm suggestions under that price point that I may have overlooked, feel free to suggest away. Thanks in advance for responses, as always!

CZ's are the best bang for the buck out there IMO. Accurate & reliable guns that will outperform the others in your list. Plus should you want to "improve" that trigger pull and let's say put a flat trigger on the 75 you can always send it to CZ Customs. These are great pistols you will not be disappointed.

CZ are generally good guns. They were copied like crazy all the Italian Tangfolio, Witness are copies along with Springfield P9, some Turkish guns, Israeli Jericho and Bul Cherokee, the very expensive Swiss Sphinx 2000, and even the Bren Ten was a CZ copy.

They are a bit on the complex side with their trigger but generally don't need much maintenance. They did have a problem a few years ago with poor steel use in the slide stop. The bar that goes across would sheer off and the gun would lock up, sometimes permanently. From my understanding that has been fixed. There were also a few other models that had issues. I believe the RAMI (compact) in 40s&w had brittle frames and would crack

CZ75's are excellent pistols. Don't overlook the CZ75 clones that are made by Canik 55 and imported by Tristar. I just picked up a 9mm C-100 (CZ75 compact), and the trigger, ergonomics, fit and finish are excellent. It has a cold hammered forged slide and chrome lined barrel with an alloy frame. There are several Youtube reviews that give this Tristar an outstanding rating. Here's a pic of my C-100:

I broke down and ordered a CZ85 Combat this week. I like how it is ambidextrous as my son is a leftie. We have 2000+ rounds of 9mm on hand but I did not want a Tupperware pistol. I started to get a 2nd or 3rd generation S&W, but realized everything I shoot now is obsolete and thought I should have at least one currently manufactured handgun.

I've had a couple CZ 75B's and they are excellent pistols. Trigger can be luck of the draw. My steel 75 had a pretty good trigger but went off on a trade. I replaced it with a stainless 75B and it had the gritty trigger from hell out of the box. $200 worth of Cajun gun works parts made it an excellent trigger. It got traded off on a M1a. If I buy another CZ 75B it will be the single action model.

I just bought a CZ 75b from Bud's last March. I have 400 ends through it and I've been very happy with my experience. Flawless out of the box and the trigger is improving but a trip to Cajun may happen next year.
The all steel 75b just sinks into my hand and feels incredible!

CZ , Best kept secret out there.

I won a CZ 75 B SA in a match several years ago.. Sat in the safe for probably a year. Took it out to shoot it and it shot Great. Accurate & reliable ,, don't think it has ever jammed.

Only negatives I can think of,, it has a short chamber and I have to watch the OAL of my reloads with TC FP bullets. Any RN FMJ's seem to work fine, no problems. The floor plate on the magazines are somewhat sharp ( at least on mine ) ..And it is to heavy for me to carry ,, for CCW all day..

I know several folks that are using CZ's as match guns.. :)

Great handguns. I thought that I was content with the 9mm's in my possession until a CZ 75B became available to me. Great shooter and fits the hand well. VZ grips have now been installed and it has a much "slimmer" feel.

Another positive vote here, Awesome handgun with a design that goes back to around 1975, Has a feel that is reminiscent of the Browning Hi Power with a DA trigger and old school safety that doesnt decock the gun.
Early examples have a blue finish and rounded trigger guard but are not as common unless you find the X military imports, I have an amibi version called the CZ85 (Pre B Model) and only complaint is the black paint on finish, would love to send it off to be blued bu Fords!

The "B" Models have an improved hammer safety IIRC but some say their triggers are not as good as the "Pre B" versions, I recently purchased a Satin stainless 75B as well as a CZ75B Kadet with target sites (whole gun not upper conversion) and both B models have about the same trigger as my 85.

I have heard rumours the new "Omega" model has a better trigger feel that is simpler in design but have not researched this or fired one yet.
The CZ has many variations including a decocker version and polymer frame versions , check out their website to see what the current lineup is

I've had one for over a decade and like it a lot. IIRC it was part of an overrun on an order for the Turkish Army or at least that's how Burns Brothers advertised it. Think I paid $325 and it came with a 15rd, 10rd mag and mag loader. A little heavier than most but it shoots soft and accurate.

I bought a SP01 Tactical .40, ran 1800 rounds through it without an issue, liked it so much I also picked up a 75 9mm stainless. They are great guns. I have no regrets and would buy another. I like all steel pistols.

You should also consider the IWI Jericho and the Magnum Research Baby Eagle II or III. The IWI Jericho is now selling on Gun Broker in that price range.

You know what's crazy? I got it in my head I wanted a CZ75B back when CZ had a fire at their manufacturing plant. CZ75B's, in particular the matte stainless, couldn't be found. What did I do? I bought a couple mags and a set of CZ checkered wood grips. Might as well stock up on the things I'll need while waiting for supply to return.

Fast forward to today. I still have the extra mags and grip panels. What I don't have is a CZ75B Matte Stainless. Every time I hold a CZ, I fall in love. When I dry fire the trigger, I fall right out of love. I'm on the fence.

I bought a CZ 75 SP01 full size with full length dust shield. The trigger was pretty good and getting better. I haven't measured the trigger pull but will do that next time I go shoot. The gun is a little on the heavy side but I just bought it to shoot targets and plink with and with its weight the gun is a pleasure to shoot and recoil is sure nice and mild.

I had a Matte Stainless 85. And that's exactly how I feel about them. Soon as I pull the trigger I had it right back to the salesman

I have had a CZ75 for years. Way before they were "discovered," when you could buy them pretty cheap. I started with a CZ75BD in blue. I didn't care for the decocker, and got a CZ75B in nickle to replace it.

I don't think you can go wrong with one. I carry it cocked and locked. The darn thing fits my hand like a glove, balances perfectly for me, feeds everything I have put in it, and is very accurate.

I have a stable of 9mms, and I think that if I had to pick just one. This would be it. I also would want to hold on to my Glock 19, but for totally different reasons. Well, then there are the Hi Powers . . . Then . . . . Oh Well.:):)
