I like Kahr pistols, I consider them a great DA action at 6 pounds and easy to reload with 1911 magazines. Great self defense weapon. I have a night sight on my front sight.

I didn't know the cw45 used 1911 mags. Really? That in itself may make it worth getting one. I have a pm9 carried it for years, never a single glitch.

Wilson mags without a hitch, if you want them flush with butt end of grip I get the shorter 1911 mags made for the Officer's model. I carry with the factory Kahr Magazine in the weapon and my reloads are the Wilson 47Ds, either 7 or 8 round.

Never had a revolver that was this smooth and light on DA. If I have to use it and the gun is confiscated for evidence, I'm only out $350.00. I also have a CW9. Broke them in as Kahr recommends and I haven't had any trouble with the CWs whether 9, 40 or 45. I had a 40 but sold it as the recoil was a little too whippy for me.

Nice. I have a CW 380 which is the second nicest shooting pocket .380 I've ever fired (My wife's Sig P238 has it beat, but it is larger). I've been eyeing up other Kahrs for a while now.

The cw45 is plenty accurate. I like mine, too. The long trigger pull, while definitely smooth, is something a person has to get used to. Know I have short stroked mine a few times when it had been a long while since I last fired it. Only modification I have on mine was slipping on a bicycle inner tube (turned inside out) on the grip to cover the aggressive grip texture.

Not sure what the manufacture date is on your cw45. If it's recent it likely won't have the issue I encountered, but will bring it up so you or others reading this thread can check.

The issue was the front slide rails were a tad short and not properly engaging the front groove of the slide when the slide was fully in battery. They were short by like a .01". With mine Kahr replaced the frame. Will note I never encountered any issues with it operationally before it was sent in for this, it only exhibited the front end "play".

There is some information about the issue in this link;

OP, nice shooting! I carry a Kahr PM9 and a P380, and both are great guns. What I like about these Kahrs is that they are 100% reliable, accurate, good sights, great triggers, and very, very concealable. That PM9 is such a smooth shooter... They don't seem to get much love on the forums, but I think they are a quality gun.

I had a CW45 for a while, but sold it. It was a good shooting gun, but I decided to go with my Colt Defender for .45 carry. I thought the Defender had a little better size for concealment, and a little more capacity (didn't know it could use 1911 mags!! :(), and it shoots great!. IMO, the CW series is an excellent value...

I have since added a Glock 30S to the .45 carry rotation and think that it's an excellent choice. It carries/shoots great, and has 10+1 .45 capacity. I tend to carry the G30S more than the Colt these days...

Bronco45 Nice shooting ! Looks like your taking to it like a natural .

I have a CT45 , I have the two stock mags but all I use are 1911 mags . Check-mate mags are another one that looks to run reliably but with the nose of the follower bend down level. Gives you one extra round too .

I have a pile of 8 round cmc mags that I use but I had to trim some do the full tuning to them to work in the kahr but they now run very reliably too .

Those 45 kahrs are smooth shooting pistol .

Good video on CW45 with check mate mags -

Thanks all for your comments. Kahr while ignored is a good weapons platform, especially for old revolver double action shooters.

Good video on the mags, thanks!

B3500, checked my CW45 it appears to be a newer manufacture as their is no end play. Great thread on a very serviceable SD weapon.

Wife put her 642 away due to pain from recoil. She went shopping and picked out the CW-45.
I'm impressed with the accuracy, lack of recoil and smooth revolver like trigger.
Shootin' little rascals.

Kimber Kimpro Tac-Mag 7 shot Officer's Mag worked after about 10 strokes of a flat file modification. Gives you an 8 shot .45 no bigger than the S&W J frame .38s

Yup,.....that's me.

I carry a CM9 as my EDC. I have a Shield, but the Kahr is smaller and easier to hide in a IWB holster, with my T-shirt untucked. My CM9 has been utterly dependable is it plenty accurate for social work. I also have a TP9 that is a wonder to shoot. I really like Kahrs, and I believe their quality is way better than generally given credit for. I don't really understand the disdain often given to the brand, and find that the opposite is the case. I also think that CCW (not LEOs) persons make way too much about mag capacity, and really need to spend more time on the range learning to shoot and hit their target. If done, the capacity arguments will most likely melt away. Down the road, I may have to give one of them Kahr .45s a try, as I already have the Wilson mags.........

Had a CW45 a while back. All the above comments about great DA, accuracy, etc were true for mine. But had trouble with feeding with a variety of loads that other guns ate right up, and then the mag started auto-dropping. Fought all that for a few hundred rounds and then got rid of it.

Great concept, faulty execution--at least the one I had. Replaced it with a gen 4 Glock 19. It works, which matters to me.

Besides I now read that for practical purposes the 9mm is equivalent to all other pistol rounds and up to .50 BMG.

Still got revolvers and an old light saber around in case all this semiauto stuff is a flash in the pan.

Kahr.s smaller sized handguns will test your ability as a shooter and test you ammo you use . Buy a cartridge gage and pull a few from any new brand or lot you buy and check to in your barrels chamber , Plunk Test . Kahrs chambers are tighter than many other brands and may not feed some of the low quality ammo others will . Also pays to use some kind of grip aid . Slip ons , inner tube or nitrile gloves all help with grip control and don't think you will shot it like a 25oz full size pistol . Maybe 1/2 or 1/3rd as many rounds in a range session .

My first kahr came from a mad owner that could not make it run reliable he used in other hands . For me it ran great .

We have a new CW 9 on layaway for the wife.it was best feeling one she held with a model 36 a close second

Congrats on the new CW45! I love my CW380 and have my eyes on a CW9 and really am tempted by the T9. Love the Kahr trigger!
