After not being impressed with the factory finish (as well as a few finish blends from the factory) I'm dropping the gun off at wright armory here in mesa for a cerekote finish, either in aluminum grey, or combat grey. I've seen several other of these firearms cerekoted and they all turn our great. Will post a new thread with pics when the gun is finished.

Has anyone else cerekoted their revolvers?

No, I haven't and personally, I think a 586 L-Comp with some honest wear looks pretty good. To each their own, however. I look forward to your pictures.

Welcome aboard from Wyoming.

I had one of our forum members cerekote a 1952 Baby Chiefs Special that had seen better days. He did some other smithing work for me before applying the coating. Craig Spegel provided the tiny boot grips. I've carried it every day since I got it back last spring, and it shows no signs of wear.

I'm very impressed. Hope you enjoy yours.

I only have one cerakoted gun, which is a glock 26. After carrying in both leather and kydex holsters and practicing hundreds of draws I have worn the finish completely off in a number of areas. On one hand I don't really care for the durability of cerakote. On the other hand, it can be cheaper than other finishes and there are a lot of color choices.

Having said that, I am looking at refinishing my S&W649 and cerakoting is on the table because of the price, even though I know that I will wear the finish off of it too.

And two-bit cowboy, that baby chief looks amazing!

I haven't Cerekoted anything as it is nothing more than paint. Hope you like painted revolvers. I think they look terrible.

I had a Mossberg 500 that had seen better days,so I tore it down, blasted it and Cerakoted it myself. It came out quite nice, and looks FAR better now than it did before.
