Laugo Arms Alien Pistol...

The trigger is actually very nice, with virtually no take up and a crisp, light break. I don't have a trigger pull gauge, but my old finger would put it really close to "1911" territory. There doesn't seem to be any over travel and the reset very quick. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it is as nice as my Sig P210's, which have been my yardstick for awesome triggers for a long time.

I predict you will be delighted with the trigger. With the extra moving parts I also was concerned, but it is not evident to the trigger finger.

Thanks again for the quick reply!

Here is a video a friend from Belgium sent me that really shows how the gun works.

That is a great take-down picture. The one caveat I would is to tell you to be careful when you pull the spring back (or down) on the rod when disassembling it from the piston. Wear safety glasses and point in a safe direction :-)

The extra magazines were $89 each.

BEEMER1, I don't remember exactly when I put my order in but my number is 349/500. They claimed to be sending them out in order of purchase. My experience was next day air from UPS. I didn't wait for a call, but went to their website to put in payment and FFL info. Hopefully yours will come soon.

I have put in my payment and FFL info in on January 1st when they sent the address out. I am getting a phone number to try so maybe that will help. It just should not take a month to get the guns out in my opinion. Thanks

It is the best video I have seen showing the inner workings of the gun.

I sent the PM back. Email the sales manager and see what happens.

Mine is #61

The design's main inspiration (if not duplication) is the gas piston system. If you have ever handled a H&K P7 and seen the gas piston under the barrel the Alien's piston will look VERY familiar. The Alien's piston lays on top of the fixed barrel and the relatively small spring is alongside the piston. The P7, of course, has the large recoil spring over the fixed barrel.

I fired about 100 rounds of 115 grain range ammo through mine offhand at 15 yards. This initial trip was more of a function check and opportunity for me to become more familiar with the weapon rather than a "test" of t he gun. My results on a sunny, cool day in central Texas were very encouraging, as the accuracy was immediately apparent. The adjustable-for-windage open sights were dead on with the range ammo, as it was with the red dot after changing the top rail. I have no doubt that a better class shooter than I would have no problem producing impressive groups.

As I mentioned, the mitigation of muzzle rise is the primary benefit of the low bore axis design. It is really true that you can pretty much keep the sight picture between shots with both sighting systems. My 70 year old eyes did a tiny bit better with the Red Dot, but using my shooting glasses with the bi-focal in the top part of the lens gave encouraging results with the open sights.

Cleaning was a breeze once the take down process is learned. As with the P7 the main area needing attention is the gas piston's carbon build-up. The kit included a small bottle of Bore Tech carbon remover which worked great on the crud left by the cheap dirty range ammo I was using. A little time with the solvent and a nylon bristle brush cleaned it right up. The pistol also come with a special flat L-shaped cleaning tool that doubles as a carbon scraper for the inside of the piston pocket that also allows use of cleaning patches up into that small hole. Me telling it was more complicated than doing it.

We are having a rainy spell now in north central Texas so it will be probably next week before I can shoot again. The issue of "value" is subjective, and I am the polar opposite of a high speed, low drag operator. But the quality, ingenious design, and accuracy of this pistol rivals some of the finest pistols I have had the privilege to shoot. I own Sig P210's, H&K P7's, among others and the Alien, despite its rather lame name is a solid contender for quality and inherent accuracy.

Very cool

I look forward to comparing the Alien to others in my collection. I'm fortunate enough to own examples of virtually all the high end pistols from around the world built over the last 50+ years, so it should be interesting.

Since they were built in the same country, I'm most excited about comparing its accuracy to my FK BRNO.

I was going to say that at this price point, I would be more excited by the FK due to its proprietary cartridge versus the very common 9 mm of the Laugo Alien, and I remembered you also had one. Waiting for your feedback eagerly.

Yeah, the FK has a cool round and the gun is incredibly high quality. However, its design is basically that of an upscaled CZ 75 with some tweaks. Whereas the Alien is a completely new design.

They are both unique in different ways. Overall though, I'm very impressed with what the Czechs can build these days. Both pistols are top notch and can hold their own against anything I own coming out of Switzerland or Germany.

We had a blizzard here so shipping ended up taking more time than it should but I picked up mine yesterday, #230.

It is a very impressive firearm to say the least.

BEEMER1

I'd love to hear your shooting impressions (if you plan to shoot it) as soon as the blizzard permits. Some are already flipping them for some scary prices, but I don't regret shooting mine already.

I plan on shooting mine also but there is another storm moving in tonight. Hopefully next week I can get out.
