Grip screw ferrule (steel)

Are you referring to the escutcheons that the grip screws thread into? If so they are usually Brass or Bronze on S&W grips. I know they do have some steel "universal" screws and escutcheons sold after market but you would probably have to fit them. I'd also think that steel versions would quickly rust from hand sweat and moisture. As far as I know, S&W has never used steel escutcheons.
Just curious why you would want steel.

I would give Altamont a call, they seem really good at supporting their customers. A friend of mine had a problem with one of their laminated grips which went out of stock since he bought it, and they sent him a replacement free of charge. I like my older S&W grips just fine, but I have good experience with Altamont (and Eagle).
